F3 MeCa Volunteer Day – Wings of Eagles Ranch 4/16
So you spend all those hours in the gloom busting hump taking orders from some guy who’s ‘not responsible’ and for what? Well it’s not just for that ripped physique you’re sporting! Whether you know it or not it’s turing you into a High Impact Man (HIM) ready to step up and give back to the community and here’s your chance! Announcing the F3 MeCa Volunteer Day at Wings of Eagles Ranch! Join us on 4/16/16 as we pitch in and help the Ranch tidy-up, fix things and even tackle a few projects.
As of 3-27 here are the projects that the Ranch has communicated to SS Minnow. (Obviously we may not have time to do all of these but i’m sure we’ll narrow it down soon):
1. Replace one 14ft ‘tongue & groove’ 2×6 board in climbing wall
2. Remove 8-9 boards from 2nd landing in climbing tower
3. Re-attach end of board to climbing wall that has become loose
4. Repair walk-through gate so that it swings properly
5. Build short retaining wall under porch
6. Attach a set of pre-built wooden steps to porch
7. Build 7ft x 4 ft extension to deck at the end of the zip line
8. Cut down several trees
9. Assist with planting / tending vegetable garden
10. Help with switching equipment from one barn to another barn
Tools & skills needed:
- Carpentry tools … carpentry skills
- Chain saw … tree cutting

Wings of Eagles Ranch specializes in a practice known as therapeutic horseback riding and their mission is to improve the physical, mental and emotional well being of children and adults with special needs along with the At-Risk Youth population. Im interested, what time to what time will yall be doin this? I have tools and ladder and could lead a few of the projects listed.
R2D2 – glad to hear it…we will begin around 9:00 am…still have time for Sat 7:00 am WO…then can head to WoE…. This was a very successful service project for all the Pax when we did it last year.

There will be a full day’s work. Whatever portion of the day you can put in will be helpful.
Ok, hc for r2d2, the M and my 20 year old cousin sara visiting from fort benning (is there a word for that?).
I can take the lead on numbers 1,2,3 and/or can help out with all of the other numbers. I will buy the tongue and groove boards and bring the tools to install it unless someone else has dibs.

I’m a HC with my 2.0 as well. We’ll take the lead on #4 and #6 and of course pitch in on whatever anyone else needs help with. I’m assuming we’ll need to evaluate first off and possibly make a Lowes/Home Depot run for supplies?
Supplies should be onsite (except the tongue/groove board). Miller Lumber, in Mt Pleasant, is a close option if additional supplies are found to be needed.

Well my wife and i got numbers 1,2 and 3 done, what else was accomplished? We might go back out there anotber day to do some more, we liked that place and its mission.
