Having Trouble With Your Disclaimer? Don’t Take The Blue Pill!
All All MECA BackblastsJune 15th, 2017
Does your disclaimer start with great expectations and end with disappointment? It’s like you know it should have lasted longer, but you just didn’t the right amount of knowledge and experience? Have you ever thought, I wish I had a disclaimer like @Dredd? Well my brothers, consider using the below outline as a guide.
- I am not a professional.
- Any FNGs? (Assign someone to stay with FNGs)
- You are participating at your own risk, and you are assuming the risk of injury.
- You are responsible for your own well-being; you could get injured (dark, uneven ground).
- You are 18 or older, here voluntarily, and you are not paying to be here.
- Know your limits and do the best you can.
- Modify exercises as needed. Everything we say is a suggestion. Stop exercising if needed at your own discretion.
- By working out with us today, it is assumed that you have read the disclaimer and notice on the website and accept the risks associated with working out here today.
- Does anyone have any questions or objections?
Nobody wants anyone to get hurt in the gloom, but clearly delineating the expectations can keep all of F3 Nation safer. Thanks to @Sugar for making the above outline available to @MECA!

Thanks for posting Alcatraz!
This revised disclaimer was actually developed by a few ‘Lawyer type’ PAX from a few different regions in SC. Their professional opinion was that this disclaimer given in the presence of witnesses is your best defense against any claims of responsibility.
