SPEEDFORNEED F3 MECA Inaugural Event!!!

Gentlemen – as many of you have already seen and heard, SPEEDFORNEED is coming to F3 this summer.  If you don’t know what I’m talking about – SPEEDFORNEED is an initiative organized by JRR Tolkien (from the SOB region) and Nash (from Metro), where the men of F3 will attend local races and push physically disabled friends/family/whoever in specially-made racing chairs… actually just read the official preblast here.  And then read the inaugural race preblast here.  And then, if you haven’t already, go and donate to the cause here.

Once you get thru all that, let’s discuss how this pertains to the MECA Region.  YHC has volunteered to serve as Regional Q for the SPEEDFORNEED event(s), and we have selected the Concord Streetlight 5K for our first race.  The Streetlight will be Friday night, July 7th, in downtown Concord.  It’s a fantastic atmosphere, usually live music and bouncy houses on hand and the race begins and ends right in the heart of Concord (restaurants/bars/shops if you want to make an evening of it).

We are calling on the men of MECA to be there that night and serve this cause in one capacity or another.  Would you like to run?  You can sign-up here (it’s only $15).  Would you like to bring your family and cheer the runners on?  HC below.  Would you like to serve as a race volunteer?  Also HC below.  Would you like to hang out by our very own F3 tent and answer questions any passersby may have about F3 and/or SPEEDFORNEED?  Again, HC below.  Most importantly, we need one heroic F3er to push the official SPEEDFORNEED race chair in this race.  We’re open to anyone who wants to push, but we do want to give priority to a PAX who may have a close friend or family member that can serve as the rider.  If anyone fits this description and you and your loved one want to participate, please hit me up on twitter (@geo_lil82) or slack.
