YHC was grateful that for Beatdown #2 of Day 4 of the MeCa MEGA Q that 9 Highlanders came out a beatdown that from the sounds of it will never be repeated. The disclaimer was repeated and stressed at the beginning giving PAX the heads up that modifying as needed was truly going to be in play. Overdraft followed bro code protocol and stayed after to give people the heads up to go home now, perhaps unwisely, no one took him up on it. I believe everyone jumped the fence, with a few PAX even celebrating the fact that they still got it in them!
PTSD causing Hazel was brought up again; even the stoic and studly Gordo was a little shook. I boldly said well she can get over it today, while simultaneously saying a quiet prayer that her Subaru would experience a breakdown. I still need to try out the exercise named after her.
Turning the corner to see a battle rope, hooked up to a minivan was just as jarring or exciting for the 630 crew. Good tunes were enjoyed by all and helped motivate through the increasing temps and sun that came out to say what in the world are y’all doing!?.
WARMUP: Standard Fare
THE THANG: After the mosey over to the middle school we got into position. 8 PAX got into a wall sit position on the wall there. Three PAX, while wall sitting did shoulder presses with their choice of 15 or 30lb kettlebell. Those three were not the PAX that had just returned from the hill. One PAX was on the battle ropes. The other PAX, our timer, was running up the grass hill from the parking lot, jumping the fence, doing merkins, jumping the fence and not falling down the embankment and then joining those sitting on the wall. With there being 10 of us, we finished one round in time to head to the track.
No dog or Hazel there so we hit the track. One PAX would run the wrong way around the track, while the others would do burpees and then mosey around the track the right way to where we’d all meet up. Everyone was able to get a lap of running the wrong way in before Mary.
MARY: YHC chose to stretch for Mary vs more ab work.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Brolympics aka the Ghoul Games is coming in October! Either the 24th/31st in Kannapolis. It’s a field day event for MeCa.
COT: Prayer requests for those traveling, fighting cancer, Double Tree’s M (nervous about kids attending overngiht camp), a niece/grand neice? fighting leukemia, 250 years of Merica, Venezuela and a PAX from a different AO processing a marriage separation.
