YHC sent out a message yesterday indicating that I needed to start earlier than normal because of a commitment during the morning. Dingo already committed to run 3 miles at 4:30. Honestly, I only expected Dingo to be there. But, F3 men continue to surprise me. As I arrived (right on time), Farm and Pharaoh were ready to go. I originally thought I would have to run the 3 miles solo. Dingo HC’ed to run with me and then our numbers increased to 4 runners. Gotta love F3.

The second route started at 5. As we returned to Tradition at the end of the 1st run, Gordo, Astrovan, Pavarotti, and Filibuster emerged from their cars to start a 7.5 mile route. A few extra guys HC’ed, but didn’t show. As we all know, once the start time comes, we go. The group quickly spread apart and I stayed in the back with Farm and Dingo. When we approached the bridge crossing over 85, I thought I counted an additional guy. R2 parked in a different location and joined up. Even though he was late, he made sure to find us anyway. This route had 9 runners. Again, gotta love F3.

The third route started around 6:20. This was a flatter and shorter route of just 5ish miles. Astrovan and R2 said they were finished and drove off. So we went from 9 to 7. But, several pax were there ready to go. Four new guys joined us, giving a total of 11. Now we had Dingo, Farm, Pharaoh, Gordo, Pavarotti, Filibuster, Grizzly, Seeker, Blind Date, King Louie, and YHC. Hot Wheels joined in the last 1.5 miles. Finally, Dingo, Pharaoh, and King Louie ran 2-3 miles so Dingo could get to 19. Gotta love F3.

Here are the three routes:

Route 2: http://footpathapp.com/routes/191e774971614dd5aa99dcbf35180466

Route 3: http://footpathapp.com/routes/a21fdcdfbefb418e81fc15b0bff24a5a

Overall distances ranged from 5.5 to just over 20. Good job by all runners. We ended up with a total of 14 guys running at one point throughout the morning.

  1. Great fun this morning. Having a bunch of my F3 brothers with me made it a lot easier.

  2. The Farm and I talked a couple of months ago when we started training for this marathon, about how the winter months were going to be lonely and we would probably be sick of the site of each other after running all these miles with just the 2 of us. Well we were WRONG! There has barely been a saturday with less than 10 guys running on Saturday!

I know I speak for all the marathon guys, we really appreciate you all! I know you are coming out to get your run in, but whether its intentional or not, you are inspiring us to go on. I personally am really enjoying seeing all the different faces and talking or just running beside different men. Makes the time fly by.

Great performances by so many this morning! Pharaoh knocked out 20.2! Jelly a personal best with 17, Farm with 16. King Louie tearing it up! Pavorotti, Filibuster and Gordo with 15! I believe Seeker ran his longest distance ever! Funny stuff with guys like R2D2 and Hot Wheels just appearing out of no where! Thanks to Grizzly and Blinddate for joining us on the 3rd route and pulling us through!

And Huge thanks to Pharaoh and King Louie for getting me through the last 3 miles!

    Ya just gotta love F3

    1. Midsummer is the time that is far more terrifying to me. I’d run all day in the snow vs super hot and 100% humid.
