Frosty Cruise!

There were many reasons not to post this morning…forecasted sub freezing temps. Freezing rain. The always inviting warm fartsack. Nine stubborn men wisely (or stupidity depending on your perspective) ignored all those things and posted for 5-15 miles. Here’s how it went down.
Round 1
7 men gathered at 5am to get this thing started. YHC has to note that after waking up at 4am, sitting on the throne, eating a nice ham biscuit prepped by my amazing M, and letting the ice on my windshield thaw, I was still the first to show at Tradition. By several minutes. That’s weird? Even had a few roll in late. Unacceptable!
The route was simple. Run to Claude Freeman, follow it to Fountaingrove, then left on Galloway, left onto Mallard Creek, right on Prosperity and back to the church.
Round 2
As we made our way to the parking lot I spotted the Skipper mobile and @Dingo spotted @Durden. @Durden did NOT look happy. One thing to note about @Durden is, although he is Army ROTC (bad ass), he is also somehow VERY opposed to working out outdoors if anything is falling from the sky. And there was some sort of light ice coming down…sorry @Durden but this will make you stronger!
We ran out to Prosperity, made a right and stay on Prosperity until Prosperity Ridge, then ran on Ridge to Benfield, then continued to Prosperity and back to Tradition. We then went back to pick up one of our digestively challenged brothers for extra mileage.
Round 3
Three men peeled off and another thought about it until a little peer pressure got him to continue.
We headed right on Prosperity, left on Katelyn, right on Saxonbury, then took the Greenway all the way down to Fairmeade Dr, the Silver Butch then Mallard Creek all the way up to Prosperity and back to Tradition.

It was great seeing so many men out to run during this time of year. What in the world has happened on this side of town? Men became runners?? In the cold?? Good stuff! To the men that are training for Wrightsville (whether you already know it or not)…14 weeks to go!

I enjoyed it out there this morning. Lots of faces to run with and chat to. It did t seem like 15 miles and the almost 2.5 hours of running just flew by!
Congrats to Farm for achieving another personal mileage high!

Good routes. Nice to see so many out there for a cold run. I literally thawed out in the shower. For the second week in a row, my bottom jaw was frozen. Good times!
