All All MECA Backblasts

September 17th, 2016 By GentleGrizzly

YHC signed up to Q the Saturday Cruise because i’m doing a 1/2 marathon in 3 weeks and needed to get in a long run. Little did I know I’d end up running with 11 other men and many of us setting PRs for distance!

Here’s what we did.

@Dingo and YHC decided we were going to do 12, by running to and from the AO.
@Major Pain did 3 before anyone else to get in a total of 13
@Pharoah and @The Farm decided to just stick to the 10 mile route from Tradition
@Funky Bunch got in some extra credit by biking to the Valley to start his morning run
@Trail Mix @Buckwheat @RibShack @Forgotten Jelly @Blind Date @Brutus @Funky Bunch started from the valley and did the southern 1/2 of my route to get in around 6 miles.

Here’s the route: https://www.strava.com/routes/6495206

Left on Prosperity Church Rd.
Right on Driwood Ct.
Right on Mallard Creek Rd.
Left on Medical Plaza Dr.
Straight to IBM Dr.
Continue on IBM Dr. for full loop
Straight to Research Dr.
Right on David Taylor Dr.
Left on the Greenway
(The Valley starters peeled off and went back up to Mallard Creek Rd. and back to the Valley)
Right on Silvermere Way Greenway Access
Left on Katelyn Dr.
Right on Prosperity Church Rd.
Back to Tradition

YHC got in a total of 13 after the run back home. Time to Taper

Great work by all men this morning.
@Team Bacon – nice work guys, you keep this up and you'll be rabbits in no time
@Dingo @Major Pain @The Farm @Pharoah – Thanks for running the full route with me this morning

12 PAX = 12 men ready for the BRR next year??

Sound off below with your distances, be proud of those PRs this morning!

  1. Nice work this morning and good route Gentle Grizzly. I liked that we mixed it up a bit.

7.2 miles for me this morning.

  2. @Grizzly and @Trail Mix: Thanks for organizing/leading. Different route was good. Thanks also to all who ran w/ the six periodically (Major, Pharoah, Dingo, and Trail Mix to name a few) Wouldn’t be running of it weren’t for you guys keeping me motivated!

T-Claps to @Ribshack on his PR distance. STRONG work at the end up that last hill brother.

@Funky- T-Claps for biking to/from the beatdown, getting after it during the run, and then adding some extra credit. Well done man!

  3. That was a cool route GG. Ive never run over the fared of Harris B. Ive heard rumors of bad’uns living over that way, but we saw none of it and found some cool new hills. Im glad we ran down that last one before hitting Harris! But it is now on the list for BRR training next year!

I texted with GG last night and we were expecting 4-5 guys to show this morning. So cool to see 10 men out there!! Great work by everyone this morning!
