What is this, Parkour?
All All MECA BackblastsMay 16th, 2016
This was only my second time out to this AO, so I thought we would go exploring and jump over anything that got in our way (or deliberately find obstacles to jump). 5 pax set out in the gloom to do some random stuff.
Warmup
Mosey towards the track and find a tunnel with a series of columns that we wind our way through and around a couple of times, then run into a fenced-parking lot and find our way back out the way we came in. #DeadEnd Mosey up the walking path towards Turn Two.
- Not SSH
- Windmill x10, too fast until Solo Cup reminds me it’s a stretch. That’s why SSH is always first, to wear us down for the stretch.
- Smurf Jack x10
- 5 Burpees OYO
- Hill Billy x10
The Thang
Mosey back to the car to return YHC’s hoodie, then mosey back towards Turn Two. Find a nicely manicured decorative garden on a steep hill and scurry up through it, around the circle and back out to the road, bounding over a drainage ditch. Mosey down a steep hill to a parking lot.
Elevens Ladder
- 10 Merkins at the bottom of the hill, 1 Jump Squat at the top
- 9 Merkins at the bottom of the hill, 2 Jump Squats at the top
- 8 Merkins at the bottom of the hill, 3 Jump Squats at the top
- Continue pattern…
- End with 1 Merkin at the bottom of the hill, 10 Jump Squats at the top
Mosey further on towards Turn Two, hurtling a road block fence, and uphill slalom through the road barricade posts to the top of the hill. Make a left turn then circle up.
- Jihadis x5
- Moroccan Night Club x30
- Overhead Hand Clap x10
- Air Squat x20
Mosey to the spectator’s entrance for Over and Unders through the corral rails twice.
- Incline Rail Merkin x10
- Supine Pull Up x10
Mosey toward Turn Three jumping over a concrete triangle on the way to find some randomly placed cinder blocks, that we put to good use.
- Curls x10
- Overhead Press x10
- Chest Press x10
- 20 WWII Sit Ups OYO
Mosey further towards Turn Three and find a beautiful grassy field.
- Long Bear Crawl across field
Long Mosey back to the cars.
Mary
- Mason Twist x10
- LBC x25
- Crunchy Frog x10
- Oblique Crunch x20
- J-Lo x10
- Elbow Plank, Dolphin, Elbow Plank, Dolphin, Elbow Plank
Moleskin
- Not sure how much of that jumping and climbing you guys did behind me, but if you just skipped the obstacles thanks for coming out to watch me do them. It was quite a lot of fun.
- Credit to Othello for the name of this workout, as he asked the question early into it. We might need to start up a full-on Parkour workout soon. #ResearchFirst
- Dolphin pose is a resting pose.

Nice lead @Deuce. Enjoyed the change-up and varying obstacles. Definitely need to research the Parkour but I’m in!
Actually @Parkour posted at #chickenfoot today, but with @Deuce at the helm I’m sure he had you playing #americanninjawarrior! #ahoy
