Killer Bees on a Swarm!
All Harrisburg BackblastsJuly 10th, 2019
A mix of 16 men from Harrisburg and The Dawg House swarmed all over the Pitch Fork this morning. We had Runners! We had Pre Runners! We had Brogis! We had a Biker! All converging with a buzz of excitement to tackle these hills!
Route:
- Its down then up (complain about the humidity),
- then down, then up (complain about the hills),
- then down then up (complain about not being able to breathe)
- Repeato
Its really great to see the numbers continually increase at the Pitchfork. Really great to see newer faces continuing to come back out. Lots of #noquit while suffering through this terrible humidity.
One of the things I love most about the Pitchfork is the non stop encouragement. Everyone knows how tough those hills are and every time you cross paths with someone, you just keep hearing everyone pushing each other and encouraging each other along.
- Strong work by @Pocahontas, @Evite, and Clueless getting those early miles in
- Great to see @Calypso trade in his Unicorn to tackle these hills with @Hotspot. These two just keep showing up and putting in the work!
- Great to have @Sheepdog and @DrLecter back out there without skipping a beat!
- Always great to have a couple of Dawgs like @Pharaoh, @HopHunter, and @TugboatWillie show up and make it look like they run these hills daily!
- @Tartar continues picking up speed on these hills getting faster every time
- @Flipphone has finally stopped messing around and is picking up his pace as he gets locked in on his BRR training!
- @BanjoBoy looks ready for the Tour de France! His timing for finishing his route right as we do has been pretty spectacular!
- @SidVicious was stretching like a maniac out there. Smartest workout of the week!
- As impressive as everyone was out there today taking on the challenge of these hills, @Exit54 just continues to make those hills call him Daddy. He showed up at 4:45am and did over 6 laps/10 miles/1500 feet of elevation all at a pretty good pace in shocking amounts of humidity. I am not even sure if he was winded afterwards and only one droplet of sweat appeared on his brow. He is going to kill BRR!
- PSA: @Pharaoh brings up a good point about blinkers while running. As its gets lighter earlier, we all have started to use headlamps and blinkers less. The cars really can’t see us until the last minute. Amazon sells two packs for 8 bucks so you can have one for the front and back. You can order them here! Even in Pink @Calypso. #safetyfirst
Announcements:
- Phar Mill Brewery Run club tonight at 6:30pm. A bunch of guys are going and @Pharaoh is ready to defend his Dance Contest Championship!
- Keep @TugboatWillie in your thoughts as he ships off again into the open waters
- Prayers for @Taladega on his Mission trip to Texas
- Prayers for all our brave police who are out there protecting us in a world that seems to get increasingly more dangerous!
- @Hophunter has 2 spots open on his BRR team. Reach out to him quickly as there is a ton of interest in joining such a winning team. They are going to go quickly and you need to move now!
Moleskin:
Today is officially my two year anniversary with F3. I won’t repeat my full speech I gave this morning as I don’t want to reduce @flipphone to tears again. However, I can’t thank you all enough for the positive impact all of you and F3 in general has brought into my life. From motivating, inspiring, and supporting me along these events, to helping me through hard days, to opening up a platform to give back to the community through Adopt A Park, Speed for Need, and the Orphanage, and of course for all the laughs! I couldn’t even make it up one of these hills when I started but I was continually pushed and encouraged to just make it up once, then make it through a full lap and now you somehow talked me into running a Marathon. Proud to be a part of the group! Thank you all and excited to see what Year 3 brings!

Glad to have you out with us for these last two years, fellow triathlete. You’re supposed to bring the cake and beer to your anniversary. Take note for next year.
You’ve been upgraded from #fastestslow guy to #slowestfastguy. Keep working and next year you’ll rise to the next tier, which is undefined. @Solocup sets these rules, I’m sure he’ll give you something, maybe a medal from the Harrisburg 5k that’s on his shelf.
Congrats on two years in the F3 life, @Wexler. I can pretty much echo all of your comments above, F3 has been an unbelievable blessing for me, and something we should never ever take for granted.
