Comanche’s First Celebration of #Merica
All Comanche BackblastsJuly 4th, 2017
Seeing the the SUG was empty for today, I signed up to Q #Comanche’s first 4th of July Celebration. An executive decision was made to move our start time back to 0700 to allow us a little more beauty sleep. The Good Lord knows this group needs all the beauty sleep it can get. Not an attractive bunch, except @Sugar that is, when looking at himself in the mirror anyway…. More on that later.
In total, 20 well rested men from #Comanche, #Highlands, #Tradition, #Mint Hill, #Rolling Stone, and #Skywalker joined forces today to celebrate #Merica with YHC. Here’s how things went down. Parkour Mosey to our customary COP/warm-o-rama spot.
Warm-o-Rama
SSH X20IC
Mountain Climber X20IC
IST X15IC
Windmill X10IC
Cotton Picker X10IC
Michael Phelps X10IC
Mericans X10IC
We had a few late comers join us mid to end warm-o-rama.
The Thang:
Grab Old Glory for a mosey across the street to the high school with Pax members passing off the flag to each other. Quadraphelia up the hill leaving elementary school. Good audible request @Disaster! Mosey to far left entrance to high school and plant flag. Do 20 curb hops followed by 5 Around the Clock Mericans on the curb (5 x 12:00, 5 x 3:00, 5 x 6:00, 5 x 9:00, 5 x 12:00). Secure Old Glory and head to the rear stadium lot and plant the flag. The Pax saw my perfectly lined football field in the lot w/ a piece of paper every 10 yards. Well, I didn’t actually line the parking lot this morning, but it is painted with yard markers and is the size of an actual football field for the Cox Mill High School Band. Thanks band geeks! No offense to any Pax who played in the band, of course. I was an accomplished clarinet player in middle school (#1 seat in my small school band, seriously). I know, TMI, but when given a choice in high school between being in the marching band or playing football, I wisely chose football. Why not show the Comanche Pax @Alcatraz’s world famous #Touchdown Beatdown since we have the perfect spot for it! You see, our Highlands brother @Alcatraz Q’d at Comanche last week and a request was made for him introduce the Pax to his #Touchdown Beatdown. He chose a Jump Rope war instead, so YHC decided to steal his beatdown and use it today. I don’t think I violated any copyright laws as we did it on a replica football field (paved) and YHC didn’t have any war paint or a giant bluetooth speaker kicking us off with 50 Cent cranking. #Needtogetoneofthose! Next Amazon purchase? Probable.
YHC proclaimed there’s nothing more American than football. @Sugar responded, except baseball. Well played sir, well played…. We’re not playing baseball today though, so we’ll just have to deal with it!
Bear crawl end zone to 10 yard line for 10 CDD’s, mosey to 20 yard line for 20 squats, mosey to the 30 for 30 Mericans, mosey to the 40 for 40 lunges (single leg), mosey to the 50 for 50 LBC’s. Back down the other side of the field stopping for 40 more lunches, 30 Mericans, 20 squats, 10 CDD’s, and bear crawl end zone. Run back to the other end zone and repeato all of the above. While this was being explained @Rib Shack asked “Is this sh$t written down.” Why yes, Rib Shack, it is. Every 10 yards where you see a piece of paper you will see what you need to do at that yard line. #Always prepared, especially for the slower (not speed wise) Pax ;-)….
As were started the #Touchdown Beatdown, YHC publicly acknowledged @Sugar’s near perfect squat form. I just happened to be standing right behind him while doing so. He appreciated the compliment and explained that he’s never had another man admire his squat form, except in the mirror. Not sure what you do in your mirror, bro but squatting with other men?!?!
There were multiple BS calls during the #Touchdown Beatdown, none better than @Bootstrap signing it Mambo #5 style by Lou Bega. Well done, brother! Pax were talking about their #Soccer Arms being ruined. @Bootstrap requested some thunder (curls) to go along with all of the lightning (tris) that was being worked. Noted. Once the majority of Pax finished two full rounds, we stopped. Everyone was getting after it. Several Pax, including @Sugar, @Glock, @Snip, @Rib Shack (who doubled down this morning) and a few others that I’m blanking on, were flat out killing it and got about 2.7 stations done. TClaps men. @Pipe Dream, @Opiod, @Pongo, and @Mr. McFeeley were gutting it out at the back of the pack. Great job, guys!! The #Touchdown Beatdown is NO JOKE!
Secure Old Glory and run to the back of the high school bus lot, making a quick stop at some picnic tables that YHC hasn’t seen before in the dark. @Blacksheep started wandering aimlessly once we got to the bus lot which now has some trailers on wheels. YHC believes this was his attempt at herding the Pax, it was just kind of backwards…. Plant flag and do 10 incline Mericans, 10 decline Mericans, and 10 dips (I believe @Disaster requested these). Secure Old Glory and run to top of hill above softball fields and plant flag. Run down to the bottom for five burpees then run to the bleachers for 20 step ups (10 each leg). Reverse Spider Man Mericans or Spider Man Mericans up one of the two flights of stairs (Pax choice, but one set of stairs is much longer than the other). If you choose the easier route of Spider Man Mericans, do 3 Mericans on each step. Run to top of the hill and do 15 jump squats. Plank while waiting for the six to finish.
Run back to the elementary school with Old Glory being passed around. Run to bottom of bus lot hill and plant the flag. Alright men, it’s time for HATE HILL. Our visitor from Richmond @Wilson introduced a few of us to this a few weeks ago and it SUCKED. It SUCKED so bad, I figured I’d break it out on this special occasion. #Merica. Partner up. Partner 1 runs to top of hill (second light pole) while partner 2 bear crawls the hill. Partner 1 takes over where partner 2 left off with bear crawl while partner 2 runs to the top of the hill and back to their partner. Once both have bear crawled, do burpee broad jumps up the hill while the other partner runs. Once both have experienced that suck, lunge walk the rest of the hill. HATE HILL is typically followed by LOVE HILL. Repeato going down. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time for LOVE HILL as YHC promised @Bootstrap some thunder. Run to the bottom of bus ramp and grab one cinderblock per pair. Partner 1 does 50 CB Curls while Partner 2 does 25 WWII sit ups. Once both partners have completed both exercises, let’s do 75 CB Chest Press and AMRAP Reverse Crunches (Good Choice @Rib Shack)! Put the CB’s up, grab Old Glory and head back to our warm-o-rama lot for COT and BOM. Thankfully, there was no time for MARY. Good thing we got plenty of ab work in during our beatdown!
Glock Drenched Moleskin:
1) Happy 4th of July men. It was an absolute honor to lead this fine (not literally) group of men today!
2) Great effort by everyone this morning!
3) Great to see @Pipe Dream back after a few week hiatus. #Kotters
4) Thanks to all the surrounding AO’s joining us today.
5) Concord Street Light 5K this Friday night. Online Registration is no longer valid, but you can register on site. Check MeCa daily communication for details on this race. If you don’t feel like running it, come get some second F at the #Speed for Need Tent and EH some #Sad Clowns.
6) MeCa Happy Hour is tomorrow night @ 26 Acres 7PM-10PM. Come get some 2nd F with your brothers.
7) Prayers to all soldiers and first responders, past and present, and their families, all who have sacrificed tremendously, some ultimately, to fight for and protect our great nation so we can enjoy freedom.

Sound off below!
Wow…sounds like an epic beat down. I’m really sad I missed it!
Great job today @buckwheat. Thanks for leading us today. The 40 lunches were the hardest part of the TD beatdown. I was so full I couldn’t even eat any of Sugar’s doughnuts at Coffeteria!
Great BB Buckwheat! Hate I missed this. Looks like a 2 hour beatdown with all the fun you had.
That was one Holiday style Kick-Arse beatdown. Well done Buckwheat. Couple things: I’m with you on the band thing, Trumpet and 1st chair French horn Tri-Village HS class of ’87! The man in the mirror is me, I enjoy good squat form but only mine!
Solid AO and a great group of PAX!
