The MCP Toll Bridge
All All MECA BackblastsJuly 1st, 2017
21 men swam through the humidity to gather at Mallard Creek Park. Several 2.0s were in attendance driving the median age down. After a brief wardrobe malfunction from @Ranger – a shovel flag was planted, disclaimer given and a mosey began to…
WARMARAMA:
- SSH x 19
- IST x 17
- Mountain Climber x 13 (should have been 15, Q fail)
- Cotton Picker x 13
- Merkin x 11
THE THANG:
Mosey to loading dock and partner up for the @Sandman Special. Partners took turns jumping onto the loading dock and running back down the ramp while the other partner did the following exercises and switching until the total reps were completed.
- 100 – Merkins
- 150 – Squats
- 200 – LBCs
- Welcome @DuffelBag after about a mile warm up run/search for the PAX
- @Glock appeared to be the only one bleeding which is drastic improvement from the first time the loading dock was used and @Sandman’s leg lost to the metal edging. He bears the scar to this day.
Mosey to the front of the school for 10 Jump Ups while partner does Curb Carolina Dry Docks x 3. The wet benches made this a little more hazardous.
Mosey out the front entrance to the rails across the street.
- Hand Release Pull Ups and Incline Merkins for sets of 20, 15, 10, 5.
- Some of the PAX discovered a different grip provided better results for the Pull Ups. Duly noted for next time.
Mosey to the bridge because it was time to pay the toll. Four station grinder of 10 Jump Squats on one end, 15 Decline Merkins in the middle of the bridge, 20 Jumping Lunges on far end, 25 Dips in the middle again, then repeato until @Pavarotti gets tired.
- @Drop Cloth felt @Pavarotti was fading fast, but that was not the case. YHC seems to recall 4 rounds completed.
- @ONJ had drivers on 485 honking their horns at him. He’s still got it!
Mosey back across the street to the sidewalk for some Native American Run with exercises.
- Wallaby Hops
- LBC
- Low Dolly
- Pretty sure there was something else here.
- @DropCloth knew the secret to move the line further towards its destination, but @Amnesia took it to another level. YHC had no complaints as time was ticking down and there was much ground to cover.
At the main entrance to MCP, weight classes (<175, 175-199, >200) were created for a couple sets of sprints.
- @Pavarotti moved down a weight class and still showed the young guns how it’s done #NoShameLosingToPavarotti
- @DuffelBag can move for a Clydesdale
Mosey back to…
MARY:
- Pretzel Crunch x 15
- Box Cutter x 15
- The W x 15
- Low Flutter x 30
COT and BOM!
THE TOLL BRIDGE MOLESKIN:
- Great effort today men! There were 4 “triple hates” during COT. Is that a record? #NextGeneration
- Deepest apologies for not remembering the name of our FNG. Please sound off in the comments so his name can be added because he was definitely doing work.
- Sound off in the comments as it would be hard to capture all the #mumblechatter going on and I’m sure there was some entertaining banter.
- @Ambassador was celebrating America with the Stars and Stripes head gear. YHC felt patriotic just being in the general vicinity.
- Thanks for following the random suggestions of your Q this gloom. The bridge has been on the list of places to go for a few months now.
Comanche, Highlands, Skywalker, Tradition

Thx @Alcatraz for the Q – great way to start the day! @Pavaortti flying over me in full crunch during the NAR – thanks for not coming up short brother!!!
You are quite the challenge to clear, Robins Nest. It must be nice taking a normal step to get on that loading dock. Nice job!
Lol…I did like the loading dock!
Great beatdown as always, Alcatraz. I liked the variety of exercises and the new terrain……and sprints!
