Trouble Always Comes in Threes
All All MECA BackblastsJanuary 28th, 2017
17 men welcomed back some below freezing temperatures today at MCCP as they enjoyed (or hated) yet another disastrous beatdown. After the Q (and Chowder) introduced themselves to the PAX and belted out a quick disclaimer we were off for a quick mosey across the parking lot.

THE THANG
Mosey to the small hill at the bottom of the parking lot. 12 to 2 ladder with Burpees at the top and WW2 situps at the bottom. Bear crawl up the hill for the first three, and quadraphelia up for the last three.
Today’s theme was the three-man grinder. The PAX was grouped into teams of three for three separate levels of pain.
- First rotation was up the hill towards the roped off areas. Merkins at the top, Lunges at the bottom, three sets.
- Second rotation beganĀ at the shelter. A combination of dips, inclined merkins, and declined merkins (AMRAP) at the top and squats at the bottom of the hill, three sets.
- The PAX took a quick stop at the rock pile next. Two sets of curls, overhead presses, and skull crushers, rotating two spots to the right after each set.
- The final grinder took place at the elementary school parking lot. CDD at one end of the lot, Reverse Crunch at the other end, alternating frontwards run and backwards run between the sets.
With time running down, we abandoned the fourth grinder and ran back to the main parking lot for marry.

MOLESKIN
- It must have been cold out there this morning because @Sugar was wearing long pants. Apparently 30 degrees is the cutoff.
- Welcome back to FNG Jason Hall, who completed his second beatdown and will now be known as @Sunshine because of his constant upbeat demeanor. I’m sure that a couple more weeks of F3 will beat that attitude right out of him.
- Normally I like to make fun of @Chowder, mostly because he deserves it. But after completing today’s beatdown while wearing a 40 pound backpack he has definitely earned some #TClaps. I’m sure he was thrilled that I started the workout with 42 burpees and 42 WW2 Situps. Well done sir.
- The PAX enjoyed (or not) passing around @Chowder’s backpack during the arm workout. I intentionally changed the shift from one rock to two just so I could avoid the backpack. Apparently F3 is improving my decision making as well as my endurance. Good work not letting it touch the ground.
- I almost got away with skipping a few reps of the second overhead press until @Fledge caught me red handed. Oviously my reputation precedes me.
- @Hammer showed up clean shaven today, which made me feel bad since I mocked his beard in the last backblast. Apparently he had other motivations leading his decision though. My words would probably carry more weight if I could actually grow a beard of my own.
Thanks to everyone who showed up today. A strong push by the PAX on a very run-heavy day. It is always an honor to lead you. Sound off below.

I can only speak for myself, but I definitely had “Fun with Three-Man Grinder.” Thanks for the Q, Disaster.
Solid beat down today Disaster. Thanks for leading us!
Strong lead today @disaster. Well structured disaster of a beat down. Don’t worry about the beard, I can always grow it back in about a week.
@chowder needs to check his scale, that ruck sack is 30# at best…just sayin. #fuzzymath
