RRR 5K Prep Run – Damn You Dingo!
All All MECA BackblastsNovember 30th, 2016
12 men got their run on (or in YHC’s case – run/walk). After some hounding (err encouragement) from @Dingo to get my fat as@ back out cruising, I decided today was the day to get back to it. Considering I paid to run the RRR 5K this Saturday and I’ve barely run the past six weeks, I needed to experience the suck a few days early. Thus, we ran @Dingo’s modified version of the RRR 5K route.
Route was previewed last night via Group Me.
Right on Mallard Creek Rd. Left on Governor Hunt. Left onto Claud Freeman. Right onto Mallard Creek Church. Right onto Senator Royal and DOWN that beast. Right on David Taylor. Left on Governor Hunt. Right on Mallard Creek Rd back to The Valley.
No need for an explanation, just follow the rabbits who can actually read Footpath maps (I can’t). #CruiseKotters to me. Landlord made a guest appearance and was all excited to be back. NO ONE should be excited about cruises, damn rabbits! Triple Threat joined us back from a knee injury. Welcome back, bother. I welcomed King Louie to what I thought was his first cruise, only to be informed that he’s been out the past few weeks while I was being fat and lazy :-(. That’s almost as bad as the time I yelled “Where is King Louie?” at a bootcamp and he was standing right next to me. AWKWARD. WTF is up with me not recognizing King Louie?
That’s about all I got because I know basically nothing that went on after we started running. I do remember cursing Dingo and Farm at one point and having some good second F with Triple Threat. There were several rabbit sightings when search and rescue missions were deployed for the six (ME). My master plan to fall so far behind at the top of Senator Royal to make the rabbits run back up to find me failed. They all got to the bottom and said screw Buckwheat, he’s a grown man… I made sure to point my plan backfire to the rabbits once I reached the bottom. The rest was a blur because I was sucking wind so bad. I do recall several statements of encouragement to keep on truckin, but all I could manage were mumbled responses between breaths.
Tired Mokeskin:
1) Thanks for letting me lead from the six!
2) Thanks to all of you who keep the encouragement flowing to get out and run. I need it as I definitely wouldn’t be cruising if it weren’t for my F3 brothers!
3) TT- Way to push through the knee soreness. Hopefully it didn’t flare up too bad.
4) RRR 5K – Saturday. You all know about it and most of you will be there.
5) Christmas Party is Saturday night. RSVP if you haven’t done so. Show up, it’ll be fun for sure!
6) Operation Sweet Tooth is going on between now and Saturday. Donations have started coming in. Keep em comin! Thanks for your contribution this morning, Skipper!
7) RED Friday. Starts at Tradition 0530 Friday.

That’s ok @Buckwheat. When I showed up for my first Cruise I had someone ask me if it was my first time running! (apparently that’s because Two Step said he wasn’t a runner and it was his first time?)
Also Farm still can’t recognize me with my hair changing lengths, facial hair randomly going from mostly clean shaven to haven’t shaved in 6 weeks…..
Glad to know I’m not the only one who can’t recognize you @King Louie. Maybe if you displayed more mumble chatter at beatdowns that would help us?
You’re the king of BB responses though! Do you set a timer like every five minutes to check if the BB is posted? You’re almost always the first one to comment… Good stuff!
I’m the quiet one! Except in typing, apparently.
Mostly I just try to distract myself if I’m on hold with a doctor or insurance or whatever at work and look here and google stuff randomly.
Good times this morning! Not the easiest route. Hard finish up governer hunts 3 steep hills and back up to the valley. Great seeing so many at the cruise.
Buckwheat – you killed it this morning! You too Triple Threat!
Funky Bunch is getting faster as each week passes.
And the rabbits seemed to having a field day out there! Like they found Mr McGregors garden unattended!
