Giant Moth Attacks!!!

All All MECA Backblasts

May 25th, 2016 By Jumanji

Important Warning: As we got about a 1/2 a mile into the never ending 5K (Even more fun than it sounds) a Moth the size of a man’s open hand flew into our path and attacked Man Down.  Thankfully he was not seriously hurt…..this time.  So please be careful when running the during the morning or evening on the greenway.

Or according to Dingo, a giant moth was minding his own business on a peaceful Wednesday morning when he got sucked into Man Down’s heavy breathing vortex.

The Thang:  The Never Ending 5k

Audible:

The running on the hill was getting pretty slow (Looking at you Dingo) so I had the pax mosey over to the grass hill by the school and do 3 sets of 3 hills.

Mary:

Announcements: Trailmix is putting together a King Tiger 5k team.  Let him know if you are interested.

P.S.  In the interest of protecting my fragile emotional state I am going to assume the low turnout at my workouts is due to fear.

P.P.S. If you didn’t post anywhere and were just being lazy and fartsacking then get in gear and embrace the pain. #Hills

  1. To the faithful few, thanks for putting up with my Q this morning.

    1. So I actually woke up not feeling well, and then rolled out of bed to get ready to come anyway, then I got a calf cramp that I had to stretch out before standing up. I was wondering what the good Lord was trying to tell me, then I saw you were Q’ing and realized I should call it a rest day today. So the fear got me, and everything else, but mostly the fear.

  2. I almost got an early breakfast with that moth! Tough workout Jumanji. I expected nothing less.

  3. I think this is a great route to do periodically and track progress… flat 5k, followed by AMRAP on the hill o’ shadows – could keep up with how many trips up / down the hill you get by 610am.
The only thing, Jumanji, is that most of us don’t have different “speeds” up the HOS… it’s either off or on 🙂

    1. You think you don’t have different speeds. With a little practice and pain you too can find your different speeds. Honestly probably need to go slower on the rest section if you don’t have another gear to kick up into (Looking at you again Dingo).

I like the idea of making this a regular run to track progress and compete on. Would need to take the requested change of pace out if we are going for maximum reps.

      Monthly or Quarterly?

      1. My vote is for monthly, especially with the BRR fast approaching. Also, instead of a full 5k, just do a 1 mile (or even half mile) out and back and then spend the rest of the time on the hill. Might as well make it REALLY suck!

    2. So NOW you’re running the 5k…

  4. you all should try HIIT… tomorrow. Bring it

    1. Sorry Dutch. Trail Mix has the Q here at The Precinct. Gotta support local! 😉

    2. Dutch, you do know you’ve been doing various types of HIIT with F3, right???
