QBing Da Distance
All All MECA BackblastsFebruary 7th, 2016
Almost had a full dozen, but enough to field a full football team. I guess if @Glock had posted as he had HCed the day before, he could have been the kicker. Someone’s gotta take the snap from center, so YHC lined ’em up and called the play… with varying paces/distances, YHC calls an audible… count-a-rama first, then run your route:
- Run-the-Creek 5k route is your base (3 miles)
- Add on the Fair Vista loop for an additional mile (or 2 miles if added each way)
- Pick your route and run as many loops as needed to get your desired distance
- A couple PAX gave the “wide receiver nod” and added the Firehouse loop for a mile on the end before vaulting into the end zone
Multiple groups form and we’re off. The PAX hit different distances from 4 or 5 miles up to 9 miles. As PAX roll in, some roll out, but we retained enough for a quick COT and BOM (thanks for the takeout @Nanny.)
Moleskin:
- Quick recovery wishes to @Avalanche (knee) and @Coyote (ankle); hope you guys can shake off the injury and are back out next week
- @Loco is clearly a sandbagger – claims he’ll be pushed by a 9:00 pace, then proceeds to hang with @Nanny and @FNGRyan in pushing the lead group… actually, think we were also holding @FNGRyan back.
- Wonder who the splinter from the Neon Brigade was on HCP? @Filibuster, @WildTurkey and @FNGRyan decided not to find out
- Way to keep slugging it out, @ElGuapo; no quit. Great job.

@Chowder. Thx for taking the Q, handling a logistically challenging set of routes, and knocking out the BB.
@Fili @Turkey. When you guys send out your text messages to coordinate outfits, maybe include me next time? Felt a little left out of the yellow brigade.
@FNG Ryan. If only you knew the text messages that will be flying this week as we come up with your nickname… Great running with you and hearing some of your story.
@Loco. Ditto!
Sorry guys even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile. Difference is y’all will be able to walk tomorrow…
Not buying it @Loco. I see your overall pace on Strava. Still a #sandbagger
