F3Concord – A Good Way to Start the Day
All All MECA BackblastsNovember 12th, 2020
Last minute we met at the new deck due to rainy forecast.
In memory of the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month (Armistice Day and the end of conflict in WW1), we warmed up with:
11 SSH
11 merkins
11 LBCs
11 mountain climbers
The Thang:
Simple 4 station circuit
Station 1 at the bottom of the staircase
5 burpees
Station 2 after climbing the first set of stairs
5 Mike Tyson’s
Station 3 after the next set of stairs
5 smurfjacks
Station 4 after the last set of stairs
5 diamond merkins
Proceed to the other end of the deck and go to bottom of stairs and back to station 1
Every cycle we increased the reps by 1 up to 11 reps then descend back to 5. By the end, the motivators got up to as many as 11 reps. Grover provided the bulk of the motivation.
Mary was alternating Superman’s and Ironmans paired with broga. Prayers were offered for family of Carol Grady, the country and those that are sick. I apologize if I get names wrong. The workout was a success despite early hiccups. A stockbroker listened to a lawyer who listened to a weatherman so we met at the deck to avoid getting drenched. How could it have gone wrong? It was a light drizzle. Oh well. Then a sniper got the Q and forgot how to count LBCs in cadence to the confusion of everyone. However Q recovered, got motivated, and got the workout moving. There was great effort from everyone. Coffeeteria was full of lively discussion around camping at Yogi Bear, Franchise opening a new drive through line at the same place we have Indian runs around the mall, and several other topics. I wish more people had the opportunity to have positive daily discussions in the country right now.
Thank you for the opportunity to lead, especially on Veterans Day.
