A Family Tradition…

All Harrisburg Backblasts

August 14th, 2017 By Hop Hunter

YHC has family roots in Wilkes County NC, which is also known as the “Moonshine Capital of the World”, so the White Lightning name has a little extra meaning for YHC.  Since bootleggers are known for their ability to run it seemed fitting that we hold true to that tradition for my 1st White Lightning Q… without the fast cars.  @Pharaoh kicked things off by rolling in on 2 wheels right at 5:30 like he had some corn liquor in the trunk… luckily no revenuers were in pursuit.

10 pax showed in the rain ready for whatever was going down… it was 9 for most of the way, but we picked up @the_Rock on our way back to Mary.  YHC was hearing some mumble chatter midway thru about Tuesday being the cruise day, not Monday, but that noise was easily ignored since this was a family tradition day.  YHC hopes it was as easy as @Pharaoh promised.  It went something like this…

Disclaimer given…  Mosey over to the 1st bridge and across then circle up for warmup… SSH IC x15, Hillbillies IC x15, Windmills IC x10, Mountain Climbers x10

The Thang…

Nothing like a crosswalk ladder to get in some running.

Pax ran over and back doing a 10/1 ladder of Hand Release Merkins and WWIIs.

YHC realized the ladder took longer than planned, so time to adjust plan.

Mosey to ticket box hill.

Partner up…. one partner runs backwards to the gate then regular back to partner that is bear crawling toward them.  Take turns to you reach the gate with the bear crawl.

Repeat with partner to get back back to the bottom of the hill with lunges.

Mosey to parking lot.
Run to the cars stopping at each light pole
1st Light pole – 10 Yurpees
2nd Light pole – 10 Jump Squats
3rd Light pole – 10 Yurpees
4th Light pole – 10 Jump Squats
5th Light pole – 5 Yurpees

Mary…
Reverse LBC x15…. recover recover

  1. Good lead @HopHunter! WhiteLightning AO is huge and it’s easy to forget how far away things are. The Warmp up was almost a mile away.

Thanks for stepping up to lead.

    1. Thx @FlipPhone. Funny… we did about half of what I planned. #lessonlearned

  2. Thanks for showing and the opportunity to lead. I always look forward to starting my week with some White Lightning.
