Sunday Morning Like BRR

All All MECA Backblasts

July 12th, 2015 By The Nanny

12 pax showed up for #TheDistance and a Q who had BRR and hills on his mind.  We found em, we ran em, and we all felt em the rest of the day.

The Thang:

  1. HCES to Millstream.
  2. Run down Millstream to Clarke Creek/Ellenwood and turn right.
  3. Run Ellenwood until it stops climbing (right where the sidewalk makes a tight curve away from the road).
  4. Reverse back to Millstream.
  5. Do it one more time and then head back to HCES.

The Naked Moleskin:

  1. Today’s route was 100% inspired by #BRRFever.  Was looking for hills, hills, hills.  Sustained hills.  We found them.
  2. 7.8 miles with 633 feet of climb.  Bummer is most of us were crushed by this route and it was nowhere close to the length of many of the climbing stages in the BRR.  We have work to do.

  1. @Pax Way to hang in there and gut out those hills. This morning was a wake up call for me. BRR is going to be TOUGH. We need more hill work. Sustained, never ending, quad killing hills. Come on out to El Dorado tomorrow, I hear the workout will be flat, flat, flat.

  2. You state 12 and list 10 – I guess @Pharoah and myself get no love or were too far back from the front to remember our participation?

This was the worst cruise/distance I have participated in with all those hills – even downhill was painful – actually moving was painful after about 5 miles in! #humbled and #BRRisgonnahurt

Great lead @The Nanny – just what we needed to be reminded of the reality that is coming!
