Old Glory

21 men showed up for this month’s running of  Old Glory, If you don’t know, Old Glory is a workout started by the Tradition Pax earlier this year (Most recent post here).  We’ve had to modify it somewhat by adding Burpees in place of the Pull ups (due to a lack of equipment)

The Thang

One Mile Run (AYG): Start at the Stadium, up Raging Ridge Road to the Stop sign and back to the Shovel Flag.

  • Station 1: 20 Merkins
  • Station 2: 20 Jump Squats
  • Station 3: 20 Burpees
  • Station 4: 20 WWII Sit-ups

As many times as possible before 6 AM

Each loop is approximately .4 miles

One Mile Run (Fun): Start at the Stadium pick up Old Glory, run as a group up Raging Ridge Road to the Stop sign and back to the Shovel Flag.

Announcements

  1. F3 Dads at the Panther’s Practice Field this Saturday (Details)
  2. We need a Q for Saturday 7/11.  If you haven’t led yet, it’s time to pay for this free workout you’ve been getting.  Step up.

Moleskin

  1. Strong work by all.  Most improved from last month’s running.  @Bull and @TheMagnificent took a wrong turn, and added an extra half mile to their run (thus their lower lap counts.) Check your Lap Count, if I’m wrong let me know.  Again, we will run this monthly, and you will never know when it will be (or who will lead)
  2. Welcome @Hoser (fka Brooks Hill)  Not bad work for a Whee Man.
  3. Continued prayers for @BanjoBoy, his M, and 2.0.  Everyone is doing well.

Not fade away,

Solo Cup

Nice push this morning guys. As dingo said, the humidity almost killed us this morning, but I love this workout. It’s awesome to see other AOs doing it too.

FJ/Dingo, Old Glory a great workout and I love the fact that it makes push myself to get one more station in. Pretty cool to see that it has made its way up to Richmond.

I created an “old glory” tag that we can now use on our Old Glory workouts. It would be cool to do that each month.

  4. Clueless

I dig #OldGlory. Thanks for bringing it to Harrisburg @SoloCup.

I was running on fumes this morning due to a late night at the ball fields. The thought of improving on my previous mark was just the push I needed.

I think we need to change the name of TRex… more the speed and size of a Velociraptor…

@Solocup – great lead and thanks for the introduction to #OldGlory. I cant wait to try and beat my post next month. Heres hoping it doesn’t fall on a Tuesday following #TheMurph. Two Questions:

    1. Did anyone else notice the pleasant aroma of skunk filling the humid Harrisburg Air?

    2. Who was driving the mystery truck that came through on our 1st mile towards the stop light? @JackieChiles claims it was @TheMagnificent, who later passed us “slower” moving traffic after the 3rd pain station.
