WARMUP: Started Friday afternoon…Drank a beer at Hazelwood Brewing company and picked up the run packet. Then we ate at BoHo Pizza! Last part of warm up was on the back deck looking at the Lake! What is making that sound? Are you serious, a man made that sound?
THE THANG: 6 Valiant and yet old men were up at 0400 for a 0600 start at the Lake Murray Dam! The Burgh started us off followed by Grandmaster who unfortuatelly got rained on during both of his legs. Squid kicked off the first 7 mile leg and then he passed off to Sir Topham Hatt then ChopSaw took over and the sixth leg went to backdraft who was battling a case of old man gout. Half way through. Top of the line up went back to The Burgh for a 6 miler, then to Grandmaster for another rainey and of course muddy leg. Squid ran another 5 mile leg with alot of chickens and then passed off to Sir Topham Hatt for a 7.8 miler and then ChopSaw laid down another 7.6 miler that his watch did not pick up. Last but not least backdraft brought the our run to an end. backdraft was passed by to guys in their 70’s who yelled “Got’cha” as they passed him. Of course this action pissed the gout ridden backdraft off and he passed them back to finish the race!
MARY: After a 45 minute van ride to “San Jose” we enjoyed the best Mexican food while enjoying veiws of the lake. Gald we are done! Shower up pour a drink and all were asleep early.
