Return of the Eagle Talon
All Skywalker BackblastsAugust 1st, 2018
We had 7 men initially show up for a SkyWalker beat down this morning, 2 of which we lost as a result of a FLAMING CROPDUSTER. No one had signed up for the Q, so YHC took the opportunity to reach into the SkyWalker Rolodex and pull out a BLACKWATER favorite. To be fair, I had been threatening the Eagle Talon for some time and here is how it went down…..
Warmarama
- 15 Side-Straddle Hops
- 15 Cotton Pickers
- 10 Windmills
- 10 Carolina Dry Docks
- 15 Imperial Stormtroopers
The Thang
After warmarama, the PAX headed down the Golf Club entrance with a downhill quadrafilia and assembled near the back of the Eagle Talon (aka Linksland and Northgreen Drive). At this point, YHC gave credit to Sparky for conceiving the Eagle Talon which included the following:
- Talon 1 (Hallux): Run down the hill to the birdhouse, complete 10 Burpees, run back up
- Talon 2: Run down the hill on Hole 18, complete 20 Jump Squats, run back up
- Talon 3: Run down the hill on Northgreen Drive, complete 30 Merkins, run back up
- Talon 4: Run down the hill on Hole 10, complete 40 LBCs, run back up
YHC announced that the PAX would complete the Eagle Talon five times, at which point the FLAMING CROPDUSTER occurred and we lost Phantom and Ambassador (although I suspect this was related to knee issues, so probably a wise choice). The rest of the PAX began the challenge. After completing one cycle, YHC recalled how devastating this workout had been when Sparky first created it so we called an audible for only three cycles instead of five. I know, YHC is so kind.
Given the early end to Eagle Talon, the PAX was instructed to move up to the Eagle Perch. Despite the definition provided by Urban Dictionary, the Eagle Perch is actually an exercise routine we conducted on the driving range. The PAX kept the same cycle of exercises (Burpee, Jump Squats, Merkin, LBC) and completed 5 reps at each Golf Cart Spot along the range, going down the cart path and back up again. Afterwards, we seized another opportunity to quadrafilia and headed back up the club entrance for Mary.

After reaching the spot where the shovel flag should have been (Grinder slept in), we circled up in a half daze from the pain we had just endured (our BLACKWATER moment). We concluded the morning with some WWII sit-ups, LBCs and a good ole fashioned Mexican Twist (Mason Twist).

- Thanks to everyone who completed the Eagle Talon and Perch today. I won’t call out anyone who didn’t make it (e.g. Grinder, Genie, Dirty, Luigi, Kool-Aid, Dodger…).
- Time Lapse is approaching (very slowly)
- New AO with a workout planned Saturday, #1 mentioned it, but I don’t recall the details- can someone please post details in the comments section?
- SkyWalker has plenty of open Q spots for August- please sign-up asap before Eagle Talon, Chicken Foot or Sharknado make it back into the rotation
Wishing you all the best of recoveries,
