Cruise of the Century

The title may be slightly exaggerated, but it was certainly an enjoyable Wednesday morning cruise. No one had signed up to Q, so @Brutus solicited route recommendations from @Skipper and @Pleasure, but decided to come up with his own path anyway! Not to worry, though, since it was a fantastic cruise. PAX left from the Clark’s Creek Greenway entrance and headed north on Mallard Creek Road. @Brutus led the runners through a “shortcut” or something to that effect, and YHC ended up getting caught in some bramble. This only slowed the rabbits temporarily, though, and soon the “shortcut” gave way to Mallard Creek Church Rd. as PAX headed up toward Senator Royal. Down Senator Royal, left onto David Taylor, and right onto the greenway @Brutus led (and thus gets credit for the Q). YHC got heavy feet up the hill of shadows to the finish, but finished at an 8:25/mi. pace. Total distance on the run was 4.9 miles.
The Respect runner, @Brutus, got distracted by a bright green object off the greenway, so PAX took a brief pause to investigate. It turned out to be a laser beam from one of those terrible lawn/house Christmas decorations shining into the woods behind the house. Curious, indeed.
YHC enjoyed some 2nd F after the cruise with @Brutus and @Skipper.

Haha…thanks for the BB Pleasure and for credit for the “People’s Q”. I tried to make a combo run of all our suggestions…yours was the greenway, Skipper wanted the flat road, mine was cross country through the parking lots. Oh and people should be careful about their laser beams heading off into the woods.

@Brutus – After we stopped at the “shiny rock” I was planning on commenting in the back blast about how you’re like a cat with a laser pointer, but the 2nd F at COT allowed me to realize that the inquisitive cat is also an accomplished engineer, a successful businessman, and now a motivated man of God who is changing lives in Africa! I’ll be pushing for a trip #Uganda2018
