Ah, what a nice morning for a run, or jog, or mosey, or walk…! 6 Stoners posted for the cruise this morning, which is a new record. We looked at our phones for a while discussing routes and decided on what I’ll call “Route A – The Perimeter”. After an official disclaimer from the unofficial Q (YHC), it went kind of like this:

North on Moss Farm at a 10.5 min pace for the 1st quarter mi, then said “Oh crap, we better pick up the pace!” Right on Moss Plantation where a Pax who will go unnamed made a stop at an unnamed bush and discovered an unofficial, yet functional urinal. Sometimes you just gotta go! Yet another example that we don’t always know what to expect in the gloom. But no need to be afraid of the unknown, because we will work together to adapt and overcome. #notthatkindofmensgroup Anyway, left on Fitzgerald, left on Indian Beach (throw in some double-backs along the way to keep the group together), right on Ryan, right on Ravenscroft Ln. across the back of the neighborhood to take a right on Alexia, catch the Lizard Lounge Greenway back to OES.
Basically, 3 groups formed ending with stats ranging from 3 mi @ 11:54 pace to 3.7 mi @ 7:37 pace

I just got this email from Man Down, so the other announcements don’t really seem to matter anymore. This is a great, dear brother. Please pray for he and his family. See below:

Melanie (my M) and I wanted to inform you that I have just (as of yesterday) been diagnosed with a form of blood cancer known as CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia). You can read a brief synopsis of the disease HERE. Basically it’s a cancer where I have a bunch of wimpy white blood cells that can’t fight disease multiplying too quickly and crowding out my healthy white blood cells. It can be an aggressive disease or can lie dormant for decades, all depending on which particular strain it is and how fast the wimpy cells multiply. I’m still waiting on the results of another test which will let us know how aggressive this particular form of CLL is. To use a light switch analogy I thought up while sharing this with our 2,0s last night, the first test confirmed that the CLL switch is turned ON. The next test result will let us know how high the dimmer switch is turned UP. We should know more in a day or two. In the meantime, we covet your prayers. We would LOVE for God (aka “Sky Q”) to be glorified by completely eradicating this disease, but we also know that He often chooses to glorify Himself through the ways His people endure various sorts of hardships. We are surrendered to His will either way. If you would like to know more about our perspective on this, I encourage you to read an article written by John Piper called, “Don’t Waist Your Cancer.” It’s rich. And speaking of rich, so are we! While we are certainly disappointed about this news, we are not devastated. Our God has abundantly cared for us well beyond what we deserve, and our true “health, wealth, and prosperity” lies in our eternal inheritance in Jesus Christ. So we will continue to press on in His grace, seeking to live out our mission to “Love God and Love People…Intentionally.” Thank you for your prayers, and we’ll keep you posted as we know more.
Glad to see the Cruise gathering strength. Sustained cardio workout for sure.
