Cool morning, strong purpose to support a local family and honor a mom taken too soon by sarcoma.

Love Seat kicked things off with what was supposed to be a simple walk alongside his son… while wearing a weighted vest. Then the switch flipped. His son decided it was a run, instantly turning the plan into a diabolical 5K. Love Seat spent the rest of the route negotiating with gravity and youth at the same time.

This all came after the first 5K we knocked out earlier in the morning. In between efforts, the Pax refueled at Gate. Big Tuna went in for one empanada, but the checkout girl delivered the two-for-$4 pitch. Deal taken. One of those found its way to Heat Stroke, who discovered during the second 5K that some decisions echo louder than others. The finish-line porta-potty became a key waypoint.

Great to have Vespa back out there. After dealing with back issues and now a wrist problem that’s going to limit much of anything involving that wrist, it meant something to see him back in the mix and moving.

Strong showing by the Pax. Good work, men.
