All BackBlasts Backblasts

The things we do for a Free Bottle of Wine….

So, our new Q had exercised his new executive “Uecker-Protocol” of taking a week off, which is fine because a lot of work goes on in and behind the scenes of being one of MECA’s best & friendliest AO’s. So, the call of action was presented and me wanting to get back in the good graces of my long lost dawgs … I Had to Answer it!!!

With that being said, I decided to take on the Dawg House’s newest thing the Kettlebells … something I have I wanted us to do for a LONG time!!

YHC was nervous as all get out, almost like it was my first time again … “Q’ing”, you sick puppies – I can digitally sense where your mind was! (looking at you Torch)

But also was excited to be back into the mix, I rolled up and this is how it went…..

Disclaimer was issued … Not a Professional & I definitely didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn.

A Gentleman’s mosey to end of the parking lot, so some of our Dawgs could grab some concrete toys

Staying in our circle, by the curb. Pick one person to be our Timer and then as a group we would get SWOLE by doing some Man-Making exercises with an 80’s Rock Playlist that would inspire you to throw ones at a single mom in college, not my words but hey … I went with it.

Our “Timer” guy was to carry his weight to the otherside of the parking lot while doing some John Cusack’s Boombox holders (weight over the head) and comeback, switch our timer to the next guy to the right and do a new exercise. (80’s movie – Say Anything). Eventually after the first round, we switched to Farmer’s Carry because that parking lot is bigger than I thought (looked good on the Weinke)

Good work by all that joined and thank you for the opportunity to Lead!! Thank you for the warm welcome back, and you guys will never know how I really did miss you all, especially the banter!!

I did use this time to touch base on something that has directly affected me greatly, as of late. I had a friend/Teammate that battled hard in the COVID world with depression, unfortunately my friend lost this battle. I spent the past couple months helping my friend fight the good fight and left me wondering what could I have done more. Ultimately, us as Men rarely ask for help, we have this crazy ego-pride thing that doesn’t allow us to be vulnerable and get the help we need. So, I am asking for all of you who happen to read this to make sure to do your brother checks. Men Mental Health issues affects around 6 Million Men every year and majority of these go undiagnosed or left unchecked which leads to many more tragedies that could be possibly prevented with a phone call or text to say “Hey brother, how you doing” and dig in deeper when just say “I’m Fine”. You never know what a phone call or text can lead to. On the flipside to that, if anyone is reading this and just needs someone there for them … I beg you to call me or someone else. Quit playing the game of saying I’m Good or Everything is Fine – when deep down, you’re hurting inside. These are difficult times right now and we ALL need to shield lock around each other to get through it, together. We are NOT supposed to do this Life thing alone, fellas … Iron Sharpens Iron – we either Win all together or we lose together… This is a TEAM sport, ask for help!!

Lastly, I left these fine men with this verse to start the week…

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10, NIV).

Prayer Requests:

Love Boat, for his sister fighting COVID and remembering our brother Greenwave that has been impacted greatly by this virus, as well.

Be safe and God Bless … thanks for joining me today!
