Adopt A Park – Fall
All Harrisburg BackblastsSeptember 20th, 2018
9 of Harrisburg’s most philanthropic came out to help improve their community through Adopt a Park!
Warm Up:
- Disclaimer
- Walk down dark creepy hill
- Avoid wild life scampering about
- Try not to trip over dirt piles
- Meet shady man standing next to running truck with headlights on that was straight out of every 80s movie Drug deal
The Thang:
- Spread out pine needles around the Historic Harrisburg Post Office
- Take picture with cool new sign
- Shovel Gravel off the bridge
- Rake/clean out the running trails
- Dodge random kids skipping school and running on said trails
- Pick up all the fallen limbs/sticks/brush that fell during the storm
- Throw them in the woods
Moleskin:
Thank you everyone for coming out and helping! I know its hard during the week with jobs and kids getting off to school and I really appreciate the effort. Special shout out to @Kojak for being the first to HC and help me pick the date. Special shout out to @Fig for finding this great program in the first place. The Park Supervisor thought he had planned 4 hours worth of work but we knocked it out in 2. Lots of great chatter and laughs out there as well. We hit numerous topics including:
- Perks of summer jobs when we were kids
- ‘Hey, why didn’t you bring all of us coffee?”
- @Trojan showing up with two left handed gloves “I have another pair just like this at home”
- “You are my Rose”
- #TheStranger
- Appropriate entertainment on long train rides #wearheadphones
- @SSMinnow showing up and carrying logs over his shoulder like he was Arnold Schwarzenegger in Commando
- @Hotdog ignoring his dad’s weird creepy friends trying to look hip and talk to him.
- #Airdrop “It has been dropped”
- “Is that like Tinder?”
- “They are probably dumb kids”
- #showtoknow
And of course since its a bunch of Dads one pretty big eye roll when @Kojak asked ‘At what age do you tell a Park it was adopted?” #badumpbump

Top 10 Backblast. Thanks for heading up this important program.
That was indeed an epic backblast.
I just showed for the photo op. I did not expect Confucius like quotes from Sir Vanilla Ice.
Shout out to Hot Dog who played the part well of having no idea who we were. Guess he didn’t want the cool kids to know he was one of us.
Lots of great mumblechatter to pass the time.
Way to take point on this Wexler. That’s probably why things get done ahead of schedule.
