A cure for what ails ya
All Harrisburg BackblastsAugust 15th, 2018
2, then 3, men of Harrisburg took a break from the usual grind for some recovery stretching. Although, couldn’t completely take a break, so we added in some core work.
As the Road Warriors took off, I found myself alone. Thoughts of a quick stretch then coffee were interrupted by Wexler, who was hoping to make it back from his pre-run in time so I didn’t leave. I told him the thought didn’t cross my mind…it was firmly planted there. Yes kids, the need for accountability is real. We were soon joined by Bear Claw, who started cramping up from the run.
Warm-up
High Knees
Butt Kickers
Ball Kicks
Shoulder/Triceps stretches
5 Yurpees
5 5-count Air Squats (5-count down, 5-count up)
5 5-count Mericans
5 5-count Sit-ups
Rotate through Plank, Downward Dog, Upward Dog
Various stretches for hips, hip flexors, quads, hamstrings, calves, then moved on to the back.
5 more Yurpees, then a few random stretches by request
COT with the runners
Stretchy Moleskin
1. Glad Wexler showed up…I would have had 30 minutes to kill before RRC opened up.
2. Smart move by Bear Claw – no need to make the injury worse. Wexler was still sore/stiff from the Ashville Spartan and I was having some issues following a long weekend ruck. This workout really does wonders.
3. Great crowd for the run as well. Those guys are going to crush the BRR the way they’ve been training.
4. Happy Hour tonight at JJ’s Tavern (aka Harrisburg Country Club). I was told long ago Yankees weren’t welcome there, but will definitely make it if I can…SSMinnow says he’ll protect me!
5. A few 3rd F opportunities coming up: Adopt-a-Park in the next couple weeks, Hope over Heroin event in September and a WoE project TBD.
Cheers!

Great lead! Really stretched out the biceps from all that flexing!
