And the Sand Bag Saga Continues…

All Harrisburg Backblasts

April 28th, 2018 By Bull2

3 men started, 5 men finished, another 3 stubborn fools continued with what they started despite offerings to make the workout something more like what they are used to.

Nobody probably bothers to scroll through the past month of Q-sign ups to notice that a “new” name showed up for the #Railyard experience this week.  Well, for the 5 that experienced it, YHC hopes that  #Shiz Nizzle lived up to the name. For those that may not know, here is the best definition YHC could find:

shiznizzle:  adj. without a doubt the best ever; unmistakably the greatest of all time

For example:

@Hootie thinks he is the shiznizzle….that is only because @BBQ helps lift him up and lets him run out in front most of the time. #TrueFriend

After @Gamma received his pork chop bisquit, he quickly got it plated with a sprig of parsley and instagrammed a pic entitled “da shiznizzle of bisquitville.”

From @Turftoe’s twitter feed:  “Yo, check out @Segundo’s post race pic…13.1 miles and his hair is still the shiznizzle”

@Riptide always comes up with the shiznizzle of excuses…can’t wait to hear this week’s.

The althlete formerly known as @TI-85, aka @Scooter, is the shiznizzle of names.  I guess he just goes with what he feels like that day #Prince

@SS Minnow is the true Shiz Nizzle, so just try to keep up with him and you will be doing fine.

At 6:59, the 3 no-gooders with their ruck bags full of stuff, stopped by to say that coffee would flow freely at 8:00AM at RRC.  YHC could quickly tell that the 3 were not buying what YHC was selling when the work out was promised to be “ruck friendly,” whatever that means….anyway, they missed the shiznizzle and it is their loss.

The other 3 of us promptly parted with the men carrying their sacks and took the long way to the “sandbag paradise.”  Along the way, we hit a few high knees, butt kickers, and defensive slides.

With sandbags in hand, we moseyed around the track to the #prisonyard.

At the prison yard, we did:

  1. 10 pullups
  2. 20 merkins
  3. 10 stepups
  4. 20 sit ups
  5. 20 air squats

Then we took the sandbags for a mosey around the trail loop (down the path to the bottom of heart rate hill, up the hill, back by the parking area, and back around to the prison yard.

Repeat….After the first lap or two, @SS Minnow and @Scooter found us through a series of bird calls and good detective work, I guess.  Somehow, @SS Minnow knew that he needed a sandbag, because he already had one in hand.  @Scooter hopped on his two legged vespa and fetched a sandbag of his own…and was quickly setting the pace from then on.

We probably did 7 laps in all…that’s about 2.5 miles with your favorite sand bag.

Before we returned to the sandbags to paradise, we had to do at least one exercise with them…so we knocked out 10 chest presses.

We moseyed back down to the bottom of heartrate hill to retrieve some toilet paper that I am sure had rolled from the toilets to the bottom of the hill by accident….good call @Scooter to help keep our parks beautiful.  We do not know what a privilege it is to have nice, clean parks for us to enjoy.

Plank it out for a minute and call it a day.
