The Murph @ the mill
All Kannon BackblastsFebruary 2nd, 2018
15 men showed up on a Red Friday to pay respect to Lt. Michael Murphy, a Navy Seal killed in action in 2005. This workout was one of Mike’s favorites and he’d named it “Body Armor”. We refer to it as “Murph” in honor of him!
The Thang:
A 1 mile run, followed by 100 pull ups, 200 pushups, and 300 unweighted squats, followed by another 1-mile run.
Mary:
Firechicken and Kojak led us through 3 core exercises, unfortunately Q was too tired to remember them. LOL
Moleskin:
Everyone pushed incredibly hard during the workout, however I’d like to give credit to the following guys for bringing their A game today.
- Amway for setting a fast pace on 1st mile run. Not sure what came over you but love the energy my friend!
- Cupid and Indy, you guys amaze me. 50 plus years old and run circles around us younger guys.
- Firechicken, you completed all reps first as I was struggling to stay with you. You bring it every workout and make us all better.
- Kojak, thanks for joining us and inspiring me to wear a weighted vest for the first time. You’re a machine and would love to see you at Kannon more often.
COT:
- Prayers for Regina (Sun dollar’s mother) as she is fighting Pneumonia
- Indy’s father Patrick who is in a battle with Cancer. Prayers with you both.
It was truly an honor to lead you men today, it’s more than just a workout!
Until next time,
Rooster
