Capture the Flag

All All MECA Backblasts

June 12th, 2017 By Gamma

Six men arrived at the Speedway eager for another round of White Lightning. Well, ok, maybe five were eager and one just wanted his flag back…but all six put in some work.

1. Good to see the die-hards out there, especially on the first day off school for many.

2. Doesn’t seem like much on paper, but adding that climb on the far end of the overpass kicks things up a notch. Each round was roughly .4 of a mile with some serious climbs plus the exercises, so The Thang consisted of 25 Burpees, 50 Yurpees, 100 Air Squats and 1.2 miles of hills. The leaders got an extra round in.

3. Like I said, Buckwheat, kind of a mean way to get your flag back, but now you have a baseline for what Guinness has to do to get his back. Strong push this morning.

4. I was a little oxygen-deprived, but I believe Talladega stuck with Clueless much of the way. He said pre-workout he was already having a rough morning, but certainly didn’t show.

5. Hop Hunter is faster than he lets on…distracts you with tales of hoppy consumption, then takes off.

6. Good BRR training possibilities out at White Lightning to supplement some of the regular runs…so Solo Cup may be making this a mandatory workout for the Dirty Dozen.

7. Tclaps to Clueless on the pre-run as well. Just can’t get enough of it I guess.

Cheers!

  1. Thanks for coming out this morning.

  2. You boys were killing it this morning.

    Yuck Furpees.

  3. Thanks for the lead @Gamma.

The Carnival Corner fire trucks and ambulance were a great pregame call. People tend to fall out when they see grown men doing doing yurpees on a bridge. #AlwaysThinking

    Solid work by all!

  4. Great lead as always @Gamma. I always get my money’s worth and then some at White lightning.
