26 men/2.0s posted for the morning’s main event – the Memorial Day Murph. The workout itself is never easy, but the fact that we are able to run it should never be taken for granted. SSMinnow reminded us of that in COT, and shared the story of Army Specialist Christopher Barton, a local boy killed on May 24, 2010, in Khowst Province, Afghanistan, during Operation Enduring Freedom. He was only 22.

So, enjoying the freedom we have because those like Christopher Bartons are willing to do whatever it takes to defend that freedom, here’s how the morning went:

2 (Bull and Kojak) ran the early-bird Murph
4 (BBQ, Hootie, Solo Cup and Gamma) unknowingly ran four different versions of the Bull Run.
26 (names above) posted for the second Murph
14 (Stoli, Google, Double Tap, Clueless, Gamma, Hop Hunter, Wildcat, Sid Vicious, Waverunner, Starsky, Tumbler, Teen Wolf, Loophole, Bull) then hit the basketball courts for a little competitive fun.
3 (Bull, Starsky, Gamma) made sure Rocky River Coffee didn’t go a full weekend without seeing/smelling us.

All in all, a solid Memorial Day morning.

1. Thanks for coming out. Great representation from Harrisburg, Boondocks, Highlands, Dawg House and Concord! This morning was a bit of a blur so if I messed up some of the names, let me know.

2. Keep Flip Phone’s and Dick Tracy’s families in your prayers. Flip Phone’s father-in-law passed away last week, and DT’s father is not doing well.

3. I think we’ll be seeing more Ultimate Frisbee and basketball in the near future – the competitiveness among this group is strong. Thanks to SSMinnow and Clueless for introducing both into our routine.

4. Between the Murph and basketball, I think we had seven or eight 2.0s out with us, which is great reminder of why many of us are out there in the early mornings. On that note, here’s a great read from one of our brothers from F3Carpex.
