A Comanche Virgin Bootcamp Q
All Comanche BackblastsMay 11th, 2017
9 of F3 MeCa’s dedicated PAX rejected the fartsack and ventured into the gloom for a virgin bootcamp Q by YHC. Upon the peer pressure to sign up after the suggestion of a People’s Q and all the HCs for doing it, it was amazing to have so many HC’d PAX all of a sudden traveling. Were they trying to tell YHC something? Or did YHC call their bluff (them being steered), and conveniently they had to “travel”. We may never know…. but they were the ones missing out in the gloom today!
The EHing me into the Q spot today started with me suggesting a People’s Q, but the PAX decided to strong encourage me to step up, so I took the reigns. YHC still liked the idea of the People’s Q, so let’s see if YHC can fit it in. Also, YHC had everything prepared nicely on a Weinke, complete with exercise time estimates and accumulated time to hit 45 minutes. Let’s see how things go!
The Thang…
Dynamic Stretch Warm-ups
- Mosey around upper parking lot circle adding in some high knees and butt kicks
- SSH x 10 IC
- Imperial Storm Troopers x 10 IC
- Wind Mill x 10 IC
- Mountain Climbers x 10 IC
- Arm Circles and Michael Phelps x 10 IC
The Main Event..
Round 1:
- Mosey to Cox Mill High School front parking lot
- As we started, the Weinke went flying. Had to turn around and grab it, else I would be lost. I don’t think I am ready to just Q on the fly yet.
- Along the way YHC hear something like a cat following us in the distance
- Burpees x 5 OYO
- Find a partner. Partner 2 is timer with running, Partner 2 runs to other end of parking lot and back (or around) TBD
- Partner 1: Merkins x 50
- Partner 1: Squats x 100
- Partner 1: WW2 Situps x 50 (we missed doing this which helped throw off my predicted times)
- Partner 1: Burpees x 30
Round 2:
- Indian Jog up hill to playground. Yes, Indian Jog… currently YHC hates the Indian Run. Though Bollywood tried to crank it back up to Indian Run.. Seems he was wanting some speed. Way to push us Bollywood!
- Grab a rock from the drainage channel
- Curls OYO x 20
- Shoulder Press OYO x 20
- 10 Count By Stick
- Curls OYO x 20
- Should Press OYO x 20
- 10 Count by Jackpot
- Tricep Extensions OYO x 20
- Tricep Extensions OYO x AMRAP (between 10 and 20 for most was how we felt)
- Put rocks back
- Run back to top Parking Lot for Mary
MARY:
Now, as stated, I thought getting the PAX involved was a great idea, so I still squeezed in the People’s Mary!
- Low Flutter x 15 by Hugo
- Crunchy Frog x 15 by Haskel
- Freddie Mercury’s x 15 (or 20?) by Stretchy
- LBCs x 15 by Jackpot
- Low Dolly x 15 by Bollywood
- Homer to Marge x 15 by Robins Nest
- Mason Twist x 15 by Ace Ventura (I think)

- The 4th annual USNWC TimeLaps race occurred this past weekend. It was the most fun YHC has ever had with a group of F3 guys! We got to race, 3 hot meals included, SMORES!!!!, 2 free beers, some free powerade throughout the event, music all day and night, and you got to camp with your fellow Pax! Got to know guys from some of the other AOs and supporting each other in pushing through out legs was great! Props to Chowder and Bos for putting that together! I strongly encourage everyone to do it next year! You will enjoy it! We had 2 teams. 1 the competitive (who was #1 of 22 12 man teams at the end) and a ‘fun’ team who impressively, still came in 10th of 22 man teams! We had 24 Pax representing Comanche, Highlands, Rolling Stone, Skywalker, Concord and Mint Hill AOs. Here was the pre blast for it: http://f3nation.com/2017/02/07/whats-better-than-brr/ NOTE: We are still waiting on the Epic BackBlast for TimeLaps (Chowder).
- Ragnar Trail Race Relay – Oct 6 – 7th. This is a great 1st and 2nd F relay race event similar to Time Laps. I am really excited about it! Read more about it here: https://www.runragnar.com/event-detail/trail/carolinas_sc
- Run the Basin Relay Race – Nov 3 – Nov 4th . This is a F3 organized relay race around Lake Norman. Details are still being finalized, but yet again another 1st and 2nd F opportunity. The other interesting thing about this one is that it will be encouraging Ms and I think the older 2.0s to join in. Read the pre-blast for it here: http://f3nation.com/2017/05/10/f3-runs-the-basin-relay-races-are-all-the-rage/
- Charlotte Marathon / Half Marathon – Nov 11th . I have just HC’d to some other guys on doing this, so will have to start training soon. Anyone else want to join in and check it off? I am only doing the Half Marathon. http://runcharlotte.com
- BoM with Hugo taking us out
Moleskin:
Thank you men! It was an honor to lead today. Thanks for all that believed I could pull it off, and didn’t laugh at becoming breathless occasionally in the IC counts and YHC’s squinting at the Weinke. Next time YHC will have to make the print larger!
Hammer mentioned a phenomenon called the Q adrenaline. YHC felt it today!
Everyone did great and pushed today!
- Haskell good job today! Glad to see your son Stick getting up so early and coming out!
- Robin’s Nest, Ace Ventura, Bollywood and Jackpot, glad to see you guys consistently posting! I am getting there! ☺
- Hugo, thanks for posting and supporting even after getting back from an overseas trip just yesterday!
- Stretchy, you did awesome today! Thanks for coming over from RS and giving Comanche another visit! Would love for you to sign up to give us a Strechy beatdown sometime!
- Bollywood and Jackpot, great work! You guys did good on the counts while in Mary! Looking forward to both of you Q-ing in the coming months, along with Robins Nest, Ace Ventura, and Haskell and the other Comanche Pax ☺! Remember, if needed, you can have it written down on paper, just use a bigger font than me so you can see it in the dim light of the gloom!
Any Pax looking for more workouts than our Tuesday Thursday beatdowns, check the MeCa schedule and Slack for some Off the Books workouts that occur throughout the week. Remember you are welcomed with open arms at all the AOs to get extra workouts, from all those near by (White Lightning, Highlands, Skywalker, Tradition, Rolling Stone, Precinct, Mint Hill), to all around Charlotte, to all over the nation. For example, in June, YHC is going to Knoxville, TN for a soccer tournament, where the some of the team Dads have been EH’d into F3. We noticed Knoxville has F3, so unless soccer schedules prevent us, we plan to go represent F3 MeCa for a beatdown or 2 out there.
Everyone have a great day!

Way to step up McFeely! Q’drenaline is a real thing and it looks like you had it!
http://f3nation.com/lexicon/#q
QDRENALINE: A biochemical released into the body only at times when one Qs a workout, thereby causing said Q to be run faster, lift heavier, and talk louder than at any other time. In excessive doses, it can cause the Q to become overzealous and lead to an excessive amount of mumblechatter from the Pax.
Nice Q MrMcFeely! Looking forward to more!!!
Looks like a great VQ McFeely! Way to step up. That’s what it takes to make F3 the great brotherhood that it is.
Aye, TClaps for stepping up to Q and going outside your comfort zone @Mr McFeeley. Looks like a solid beatdown to me. Sorry I wasn’t around to enjoy the suck. Will definitely be there next time though!
Q’drenaline is definitely real. Way to go man!
Just now reading this. Good work McFeely! It wasn’t so bad, was it? Now sign up to do it again! Although there may be mumblechatter from the pax, they’re all there to support you. AND, it is your job to navigate through that and shut them up!
Thanks @Buckwheat and everyone!
@TheFarm, also was great that we scared the rain off until Friday :-).
