No Q, No Problem. Hello Bell-Nado.
All All MECA BackblastsApril 7th, 2017
No Q for this chilly Friday morning. Numbers appeared to be way down, at 05:29:45, to which Jimmy Buffet attributed to Skywalker’s RED Friday. However, a few more cars rolled in and got off to a slightly delayed start. JB was hoping to avoid Burpees on the eve of the Spartan run, but that wasn’t in the cards today. RS has tradition of doing Sharknado when nobody signs up to Q for the boot camps, but we’ve been doing people’s Q usually for no-Q Bellbuster. But I made up a cardboard weinke for Bell-Nado last night, sorry, haven’t had pizza for a while at our house, to unveil the no-q no-problem Bellbuster tradition. Oh the inauguration was very festive, until the burpees started.

Each iteration is an exercise followed by a lap, and there are 5 exercises to a set. Do the set 5 times and you are the King of Nado! I did a little measuring last night (not tape measure, but Google Maps) to get about 1/8 mile lap, to run at every iteration. It was a late so I may have been off some. Here are the exercises:
- 15 burpees
- Colt 30s
- 20 overheads
- 20 squats
- 20 lawnmowers (10 each arm)
The lap was around the BB&T branch bank. I think my measurement went around the ATM, so we may have shortened the lap by 20-30 feet, but nobody complained. Well, I mean complained about the shorter lap. UPDATE: remeasured, its 670 ft so we were just a tad over 1/8 mile.

Men, that was a tough, no-frills, body-beating, lung-heaving, burpee-hating, bell-toating, cookie-tossing, nose-blowing smackdown, and you all smoked it! TClaps to MC and Sparknut, both on set 5 when we called it, and each did one last sprint around for fun. BR and BG saw a little action, at least at first, but just sat in awe most of the morning. If you did 4 sets, you chalked up 60 burpees, 80 of the rest plus about 2.5 mile run. Not bad for first thing in the morning. Might ask around at work if anybody did 60 burpees before breakfast. Wouldn’t have done it by myself, thanks for showing. Have a great weekend.

Well done. Heavy thoughts and prayers to Whatley.
Thanks for bringing the pain, @Schnitzel, and thanks for the call out. Couldn’t quite catch @Sparknut today (what’s new with that) but having the burpees in there helped me keep it close.
2.5 miles, no wonder it had a “Fishbone” feel to it.
Hard work by all, saw plenty of “hands on knees bent over to catch breath” posture today. Like the Q stated, how many folks will ever do anything like that, much less several days a week?
Until next time.
Good idea @schnitzel, definitely looks like a tradition in the making. Maybe we can switch out burpees for get-ups on occasion, as everyone loves both:)
@Schnitzel- great leadership bringing out the Bell Nado in the absence of a Q. You Heatstroke and Jimmy Buffett have carried Bell Buster lately. I would have never picked that, as I hate Burpees, but thankful for the challenge. Marie knows that’s my weakness.
@All – great work this morning. You men are all beasts! Keep it up.
Any takers for a long run this weekend?
@Sparknut – even Superman has his Kriptonite.
Kill it at the Spartan race tomorrow, Jimmy B!! Represent F3 RS!
Also note Jimmy B is a definite HC for the Mud Run, confirmed again today.
