800 Meter World Record Is Still Intact
All All MECA BackblastsFebruary 3rd, 2017
What is the world record for 800 meters? More on that later, but suffice it to say that despite six attempts each by four of Harrisburg’s finest, that record is still intact. No one left disappointed though. The Pax just gathered their layers of clothes that had been peeled off during the sweat fest and headed out to greet the day.
Here’s how it went:
- Warm-up run around the middle school
- 6 x 800m with 1 minute rest between
- 1 x 400m
- Cool down lap
Moleskin:
- Four for Acceleration is a record of late …. thanks for coming out and really pushing yourselves to the limit, men
- YHC had not planned that 1x400m, but you guys were so fast that we were able to squeeze it in
- @BanjoBoy – you’ve become a regular at Acceleration, and it shows
- @RipTide – glad you were able to fit a little more running in with your cycling and chlorine workouts
- @TheMagnificent – what’s this I hear about you abandoning Harrisburg for an Isotope relocation? Say it ain’t so! We will miss chasing you! Don’t be a stranger.
- Oh yeah…the World Record for 800 meters is 1:40.91 set by David Rudisha of Kenya at the 2012 Olympics … #smokin’

Great and simple workout @SS Minnow! Really needed that the other day. @Banjo Boy your speed is defiantly starting to develop, keep up the good work! Nice to have you out @ #Acceleration @Riptide, hopefully you’ll grace us with your presence more often. And of course @SS Minnow trears up the track like always #Respect
