Stucco Can Break and Also Counting is Hard

All All MECA Backblasts

December 6th, 2016 By AstroVan

For someone who likes to move around during a Q, YHC found planning a Q where it was most certainly going to be wet a bit of a challenge. Luckily Tradition has a couple of shelters to work with and a pile of fresh cinder blocks.

It’s wet disclaimer given, circle the building with high knees, Frankensteins and Quadraphelia thrown in. Pick up King Louie sprinting from the car and circle up for SSH, Windmills, Arm Circles and Michael Phelps.

Grab a block and head toward the side portico. At this point we are joined by Hot Wheels and Brutus from The Precinct. Welcome gents, grab a block.

Just as an aside … when you are planning a Q the day before, counting patterns sound a whole lot easier in your head than at 5:35 in the morning and a group of guys are standing there cold, wet and cranky.

First group of exercises (rotating through, increasing in reps):
Block Burpees – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Mountain Climbers – 2, 4, 6, 8, 10
LBCs – 3, 6, 9, 12, 15

Then Parnter up, run opposite directions around church, when you meet do 10 Partner Derkins each

Second group of exercises (rotating through, increasing in reps):
Donkey Kicks – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (at this point Dingo was worried about the stucco, or not wanting to Donkey Kicks, so we moved to the front portico where the columns were brick)
Bench Press with Block – 2, 4, 6, 8, 10
WW2 Sit-Ups – 3, 6, 9, 12, 15

Partners run opposite directions around church, when you meet do 10 Partner Throw Downs each

Second group of exercises (rotating through, increasing in reps):
Block Webbs (Merkin and Shoulder Press) – 2, 4, 6, 8, 10
Cannonball Sit-Ups (Combo Reverse Crunch and LBC) – 3, 6, 9, 12, 15

Partners run opposite directions around church, when you meet do 10 Patty Cake Sit-Ups

“Windshield Wiper” Block Merins (name per Rib Shack, all rights reserved). Start with left hand on ground right hand on block, do merkin. Move to two hands on block, merkin. Move to right hand on ground, left on block, merkin. Back to two hands on block, merkin. That is One. Done in Cadence and we did 5 (20 total Merkins).

Kind of Started Mary (where it was mostly dry)
Reverse Crunch 15 IC
Peoples Chair with 20 Air Presses IC (yes I know I said no more shoulder work)
Low Dolly – 20 IC
Low Flutter – 15 IC
Plank Jacks – 15 IC
Pretzel Crunch – 10 each side IC
LBCs – 15 IC
Maybe something else, but can’t remember

Return Blocks

  1. Nice work! Sound Off Below!

  2. Wow! It has been a long time since I’ve been to a bootcamp in the rain. Didn’t miss it at all.

Nicely done AstroVan. And thanks for doing the prerun this morning. Bitch of a route though 😉

Good to see 8 men out there in the rain. It doesn’t matter if it’s raining, snowing, whatever, your F3 brothers will be out there. Mainly because they don’t want YOU to be out there alone. So do the same for them. Don’t let a little weather stop you from posting. Let the weather make you stronger.

  3. Nice beatdown @astrovan. You handled the mumblechatter really well.

  4. Good lead Astrovan. Kept is mostly dry-ish… and even got Dingo to do the SSH!

@Jelly – sorry for the merkin head kick! I did avoid your lower back at least…..?

    1. kept us*…

    2. Forgot about that. As you said, you spared my lower back, so I appreciate it.

  5. @AstroVan, Great Beatdown in the rain with some cover. Thanks for partnering, @AstroVan! I agree with @Dingo about being there in all weather for your F3 brothers. Don’t let the fartsack win you over the weather, let your F3 brother win you over the fartsack and the weather. Great having 8 out there. Thanks @HotWheels and @Brutus for joining us and making the Beatdown better.
