Slight Drizzly Virgin-Q
All All MECA BackblastsSeptember 2nd, 2016
Only five of us posted this morning in the light drizzle. Dingo must have had a tough beatdown yesterday or no one wanted to test out the KB’s in the rain with King Louie throwing around his 100 lb +/- bell. I didn’t sleep much last night, partly because I was thinking about what the workout was going to be, but mainly because the extremely-prego M couldn’t sleep and decided that I shouldn’t either. HOWEVER, my adrenaline was definitely at an increased level due to the V-Q, so it helped me get through it. Much respect to you veterans of the Q, it seems a lot more intimidating than it actually is.
Here’s how it went:
Warmarama:
Mosey around the church
SSH IC X 15
IST IC X 15
Wind Mills IC X 15
Arm Circles
The Beatdown:
Reverse Ladder 30-20-12-8-4
KB Merkins 1/2 and 1/2
KB Curls
KB Sumo Squats
1-arm KB chest press 1/2 and 1/2
KB Lat Pulls
KB Goblet Squats
KB Halo 1/2 and 1/2
After round 1- Line drill (3rd line, middle island, last island)
After round 2- Slow Mosey around the church
After round 3- Line drill (this time, run forward to the line, Pongo back)
After round 4- Quick Sprint- Pongo back
After round 5- Slooooooooow mosey to Mary
Mary:
KB Russian Twists IC x 15
KB The W IC x 15
Low Flutter IC x 10
LBC’s IC x 15
Stretch it out at the end!
Ended 1 minute early. I appreciate all you guys that came out. It definitely was a good experience Q’ing. Hopefully after our baby is born I’ll be able to Q some more.
I think they said the Convergence for Labor Day is at White Lightning (Charlotte Motor Speedway) on Monday at 0700. Meet at turn 1.
@Rib Shack- thanks for taking the picture of us at the end to document my V-Q.
@Blender- Good to meet you
@Dutch- you owe me 12 curls!
@King Louie- I won’t tell anyone that you secretly want to go back to the 25 lb bell
Verse of the day: Matthew 22: 37-39
37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Have a good labor day weekend!

Dang! This sounds like it was pretty good. I’ll have to do this one at home next week to try it out. Nice work brother
Simple but painful. Those 30 reps of…. anything…. with the 45lb king’s gold I use are ROUGH. I really should repaint my old 35…. The tape that was on the handle is almost gone now. The “Hunter Green” on it is almost unnoticable. And if one bell matches my F3 name… the other should at least somewhat match my real one!
But yes…. around rep 23 or so I was having happy little dreams about that 25lb that I used to borrow from @ManDown. I was longing for it and wanting to write it letters about how we should work together again and ditch these horrible new bells.
Those squats following up the leg soreness from the running+jumping yesterday have me not wanting to move. (which means look for more squat jumps and jumping in my future Q’s I guess)
Great beat down though, @Mad Hatter. Glad that light drizzle kept things cool.
Nice V-Q – way to step up – no excuses – look forward to more from you. Your moseys could become legendary -speedy! I picked up the 6 on those…. Errr I was.
Excited for you becoming a new dad soon! Great experience and one of the ultimate blessings from God in this life. – enjoy it all
Post a pic or something when u can of your new addition.
@Mad hatter – sounds like a great virgin Q – without much sleep – in the rain – no excuses – sorry I missed it. While I look forward to your next Q – I more look forward though to hearing about the upcoming addition to your family!
Good stuff bud, thanks for leading!
Good 2nd F today too
