Islands in the Stream that was what we were……
All All MECA BackblastsMay 13th, 2016
On this gloomy Friday the 13th 9 of Harrisburg’s bravest came out to hopefully become a little stronger physically but probably not mentally. As YHC was writing this the song kept playing in my head. Maybe I should have had Flipphone play it on his jambox while we were visiting our islands in the stream(which was the Stallings Park parking lot). On to the show…………..

-Trail run at the Whitewater Center each Thursday night so go check it out. Apparently some of the Harrisburg thoroughbreds went last night.
-Bull run tomorrow morning before the Rail Yard and Solo has a12 miler planned tomorrow so get up with him if you want to join in on that fun.
-Early birthday wishes to the Colonel!!!
-YHC showed up early to get in a few miles before the workout so I was going to run our Murph route. As I was entering the track behind the school I could see a headlamp making it’s way around the track. I remembered that Clueless had said he had taken this route to the workout before so I assumed it was him. As the headlamp got closer I moved and got in front of it and took a stance like I was a DB covering a receiver. Still thinking this was Clueless I said “Hey Hey” a couple of times until the guy, who I now realized wasn’t Clueless, side stepped me and said “My bad man”. He then ran around me and kept running around the track. I was lucky I didn’t get my head knocked off but needless to say the rest of the time we crossed paths I didn’t make eye contact. So just a safety tip if you’re running at 5AM and you pass someone wearing a headlamp just make sure it’s someone you know before acting like you’re going to jump them. And on that note I’m out!!!!!!!!!!!

Good push by all!!!
Good lead @Kojak!
Maybe @Clueless would have body slammed you. Never know … he can do 1 or 2 mercins.
Speaking of random collisions … that was good one between @Othello and @ColonelMustard! They were both clipping fast. #couldhavebeenugly #gladitwasntme
Maybe @Othello will look where he’s going now.
Nice lead @ Kojak, glad to post at KB again.
By the way, did anyone get the plate off of that truck that hit me on the backward run this morning? #literalhitandrun Going to be a 2 ibruprofen day today!
Great lead @Kojak! Like the title – you are connecting with you inner Kenny Rogers or maybe its Dolly Parton! You sure it wasn’t @Bull that you ran into this morning on the track? Good story – and excellent KB beatdown.
Great numbers and great lead this morning @Kojak! Getting us ready for the Spartan Beast in Oct. Again… probably my favorite workout option of the week.
Hilarious story of your pre-run. Good thing the other dude wasn’t carrying a kb… #BigKnotOnForehead. Maybe we’ll see the flip-side story on another bb… this crazy s.o.b tried to tackle me on my pre-run this morning… then just taunted me the rest of the time by not looking me in the eye… I was ready mace him on the next lap.
@Gamma is faster backward than forward… sneaky fast! Said he was going to run his legs of the BRR backward, just because he can.
If I run a leg backwards, does that take the miles off from the prior leg?
My bad for not giving HUGE props to @Flipphone for running to and from the workout!!!! That’s a lot of dedication and risk of life and limb in some spots on that route.
