All All MECA Backblasts

May 7th, 2016 By Bull2

9 men decided to take their Saturday head on and put a little work in before going about their day.  T-claps to Cantore for fooling Starskey into thinking it was a +50° morning….too bad he couldn’t convince him to stay for the workout.  T-claps to the other runners out early this morning.  It was like a family reunion at Carowinds, we were just missing the custom shirts.  Titleist, Naughty, and Swami all got an early start this morning, but we still managed to muster together a respectable group for the Bull Run.  We also managed to meet up with those boys out on the course.  I am not sure that all of the early birds were running though, because Swami was dressed for a surprise arctic blast.  I am a little surprised that he didn’t carry a sled with him. Still frazzled from the Swami sighting…. I then noticed a 7′-2″ tall fathead running on chicken legs coming toward me.  As he got closer, he brandished a long slender stick and veered directly in my path.  Just as I was about to lower my shoulder and bull-doze this mythical beast, my eyes focused on the bearded b@stard known as Hootie.  The stick was actually his forearm offering up a fist bump as he was getting some warm up miles before the Duathalon that he was about to slay.  At this point, I wished my eyes had never come into focus.  This is simply because it was at this time that I noticed that Hootie was wearing some skimpy spandex gear that would be fit for this months edition of ManCave Magazine. #scarredforlife.  Apparently, the spandex and chicken limbs are the perfect combination for crushing the Duathalon.  T-Claps brother.

After the scare during the run we did this:

Mosey to lower parking lot….apparently there was a Q-fail here, we lost at least one (Tumbler) during the short mosey from the upper lot to the lower lot.  Hope you made it home.

Better do a quick disclaimer in case we lose any more

SSH x 20

Merkins x 12

IST x 12

Diamonds x 10

Mosey to the island in front of the library parking lot – Partner up.

Partner A – Run up the hill to the park entrance, do 20 merkins, run back.

Partner 2 – Run up the hill to the shelter, do 20 dips, run back

10 Partner Derkins each, pat your partner on the back, and do what your partner just did, meet back at the library parking lot, do your allotted derkins….and the cycle goes on and on. #easybackblast

Once we were done with this nonsense, we took a mosey down to the bottom of HR Hill.  We bearcrawled the hill up to the shelter…despite all of the crying and complaining.  At this point, I was hoping Team Super Possum would actually roll over and play possum so we wouldn’t have to hear it.

At the shelter we did:

Dips x 20

Inclined merkins x 12

10 step ups each leg

Mary:

LBCs x 33 (Larry Bird is legit)

W x 12

Announcements:

  1. Chaos said something about some color run coming up in August.  You may want to see him for details, I may not have heard him right.
  2. Chaos is looking to put together some more BRR fundraising festivities, just be on the lookout….or give your cash directly to Titleist just to save everybody time.
  3. T-Claps to Sundial for taking us out.

  1. Always an honor to take the lead once in a while. Thanks for playing along today and putting in some solid work. For those interested, I think most people probably logged between 3 and 4.5 miles and not much of it flat.

  2. Sounds like it was a good one

After celebrating my last place finish in the free 10k, we went to Carrowinds. I saw the same band camp matching shirts there that you mentioned. They were pretty awesome.

  3. The best part of any @Bull beat down is the post blast. Spandex and chicken limbs…I dropped my sled and peed my pants.
