Alright, Who Cut The Cards………

8 of Harrisburg’s toughest came strolling into the park this morning looking for a KB beatdown.  What they found was worthy of a Vegas nightmare.  Was the deck stacked, or the cards shuffled?  Eyebrows were raised, but nobody knew for sure.  The workout, including audibles, went something like this…

Mosey to end of parking lot and back.  Circle up for…

  • SSH x 15
  • IST x 10
  • Merkin x 10
  • Windmill x 10

The Thang

KB Card Game

  • 1 exercise chosen per suit, with Jokers representing Burpees x 10 reps
  • Hearts – KB Swing
  • Spades – Merkin
  • Diamonds – Squat Press
  • Clubs – Outhouse Curls

Face value of each card represents number of reps, with following modifications:

  • Jacks – 10 reps
  • Queens – 11 reps
  • Kings – 12 reps
  • Aces – 15 reps

Draw one card, complete the reps, draw another and so on. 54 cards in total.  Called a 1 min breather at the halfway point.  Continued until all cards were drawn.

PAX roared through the cards in record time.  Additional exercises were…

  • Tricep Superset – Overhead extensions followed by bench dips.  3 sets x 10, 12, 15 reps
  • Lawnmower Pulls – 3 sets x 10 reps each side

  • LBC x 20
  • Squirm x 20
  • Crunchy Frog x 15
  • Mason Twist x 10 (Flip Phone)

  • Thank you guys for sticking with me on this.  Wanted to try something new this morning (for me anyway).
  • Strong work by the PAX.  Finished in record time.  Total of 102 reps per exercise, with an additional 20 Burpees.
  • @Finnegan – Dude was a silent killer this morning.  Rolled through the workout like it was nothing.  Unlike some others nearby who had quite a lot to say this morning, no names necessary.  Was the deck shuffled???
  • Food Pantry still needs donations.
  • PAX travelling to Columbia to help with devastation from flooding.  Ask @Tumbler for details (I think he was planning to go)
  • Hopebuilders 5k in Charlotte tomorrow for Levine Children’s Hospital
  • Yard Sale at Harrisburg Presbyterian Church tomorrow.  Great opportunity to clean out the garage and help them out!
  • Keep Nala’s (Andrew Wheaton) 2.0 in your prayers.  He’s a soldier from Fort Bragg who is staying at the Ronald McDonald House while 2.0 is in ICU (6 weeks old).  Asked PAX if anyone had ideas for something to do for him and his family while they are here, and going through this difficult time.  Possibly gift card to treat him and family to dinner.  Get in touch with me if interested.

Tough workout and Great job. I should have gone over to Acceleration and run with @SSMinnow.

I agree, questionable card cutting, though I don’t expect much from a ‘Whee man.

I had @Tumbler chirping in my ear the whole time…worse than @Hootie.

Great lead @Tbone. Shoulders are barking with two days in a row of intense beatdowns. Loved the card theme but yes, you must have been a Vegas Dealer at one time. There is NO WAY those cards were shuffled when you turn over a J, K, Q, A, multiple times in a row!! Looking forward to attending more Q’s by you, great job!

I am in to donate to a gift card for Nala and to the little girl you are running for this weekend. Sorry I can’t be there but they are all in my prayers.

HA! I don’t know about silent Killer….. My shoulders were still screaming from The Clueless beat down yesterday! That was a good workout and I am feeling it today. Good Job this morning, different is good

Nice one @TBone! The random nature of that type of workout keeps things interesting. We did rip through things a quick pace too. In addition to the head rush experiences, the heart rate was elevated the entire time.

@TBone – looks like a great workout, hated to miss it. I think I heard @Tumbler from here…must’ve been during the KB Swings.

Strong workout today Tbone. I want to know why everyone assumes it was me with the mumble chatter. I would like to point out I was not the first to question the integrity of the card shuffle, but I may have been the loudest and that guy who just wouldn’t let it go. A word to the wise, not a good idea to get a flu shot in one shoulder and tetanus booster in the other in between a merkin mania and kettle bell beat down. Most of my lunch will be consumed through a straw today. One last note @solocup we can’t be friends anymore. “Worse than Hootie”, that cuts deep!!!

No clue what you’re talking about or what was said but wear that comment as a badge of honor. You are obviously doing something right. Keep up the good work. Curves is always an option for anyone wanting a hug and a pat on the back.

Thanks for sticking with me on this guys. Been wanting to try that for a while. I underestimated the strength of the PAX though, and will make changes for next time. You guys crushed it. @Clueless you’re right, heart rate was definitely elevated the while time. @Othello, thanks for the mention about Nala. For anyone interested I think a gift card would be nice for them to get away for a meal or something while they’re here. If you’re willing to kick in a few bucks send me a message. @Tumbler, I don’t mind the chatter. Had no clue what was being said anyway. @SoloCup glad you came out. Come again. @Hootie take a page from @SoloCup and come on out. Or stay at Curves. @Gamma good luck tonight. Stay safe.

@Clueless – these soccer arms have been “in” for quite a while…not a new thing. You can’t get arms like this overnight or in one season for that matter. Don’t hate.

@Tbone – no #Curves here. Let it go last price increase. That and they got rid of towel service and bottled water. Just wasn’t the same. @BBQ and I are getting after it Tues/Thur at 4:15. Come on out and get you some if you think you’re up for it.

…and I’ll call it a win-win if I don’t have to arm wrestle you big corn fed country son of a gun.

With a little love…over and out.
