5 pax gathered in the cold and not so gloomy Saturday to work thru the 13 pains and get better together. Heres how it went down.

WARMUP: Short mosey over to the school entrance stopping for some toy soldiers and squat/lunge medley. Continue around the loop stopping for warm-up (windmills, hillbillies, plank jacks, mericans, etc.) while Q attempted to re-adjust his movements to better align with cadence count and address pax feedback. Head back over to the school entrance, start some Christmas music and grab a block to get the 13 pains going.

THE THANG: 13 pains (aka exercises) were reviewed: 1 – blockee, 2- thruster, 3 – swing, 4 – squat, 5 – block merican, 6 – bent over row, 7 – curl, 8 – skull crusher, 9 – overhead press, 10 – WWII sit-ups, 11 – LBC, 12 – V-up, 13 – SSH. Start with the 1st pain (qty to be done is the #) and then continue to repeat & add next exercise in a pyramid until all 13 pains were completed. After each round, pax ran or carried blocks down to the start of the entrance lane (alternating between each method of travel after several rounds). We kept moving for ~45 minutes and kept warm as a result. Amazon classic rock Christmas playlist was pretty weak other than a nice George Thorogood inclusion and a mystery song credited to Lynyrd Skynyrd. We finished up with a round of Welsh Dragons across the parking lot which were everyone’s favorite!

ANNOUNCEMENTS: HH this Thursday, RS – 12 days of Christmas beatdown next Saturday, 12/20 and Mount Afton event in January + much more to come in the New Year.
Strong 2nd F at Sweet Spot afterward with 100% participation + heatstroke joined us for breakfast and shared draft version of the RS- Don’t Be The Six FFL handbook for review and feedback by all.
