Gotta keep moving
All Harrisburg BackblastsJanuary 20th, 2024
Note to self- sign up to lead prior to checking the weather forecast. No need to give yourself a way out just because it’s going to be cold. That said, seeing that it was supposed to be 20 or 22 deg was alarming but whatever. Very thankful that guys showed up to join me for a workout with a simple goal- keep moving to stay warm.
7a on the clock, time to mosey toward the library with a little jogging, some high knees, some side shuffles along the way.

It only took about 30 minutes of working out to get feeling into my fingertips so I guess the temps were not as bad as expected. No doubt swinging my arms constantly probably helped (good idea Constitution). Minnow was much smarter as he had the puffy mittens. Bearclaw was wise as well sporting the balaclava. Then there was Mullet in shorts and no hat- he must have better circulation / insulation for the cold temps. So be it. Regardless of the dress, keeping us in motion was the goal and all in all was a good morning. After awhile I didn’t even feel the cold. Had a bright clear sky with a nice sunrise. Even with some huffing and puffing and at times questions about total reps, we made it. I say it every time I lead- thanks for joining me. I was afraid the cold temps would be the great eliminator and that I’d be solo but guys still showed up. The parking lot was amazingly full with guys for the beat down, rucking, and running. There’s something about doing hard things with others- you might only show up just for fear of missing out, but you end up getting the good after all. And then there’s always coffee time which should be a motivator for anyone. Where else do you get to gather with guys and have 6 different conversations all at once?
Have a good Saturday peeps- go be salt and light wherever you are, don’t be afraid to share a helping hand or word of encouragement. Don’t fall prey to the monster called ‘Meant To’ either. Meant to’s don’t mean squat! Actually do it.
Peace out homeys
