Winning the DT 44 – From Confusion to Competition to Completion
All BackBlasts BackblastsJanuary 30th, 2020
YHC will be turning 44 tomorrow. 44 trips around the sun – or the proverbial speedway of life. Time marches on.
In the racing vernacular, I’m no longer Richard Petty in his slick Petty blue STP jumper, now Kyle Petty in his curly mullet, sporting a black-and-neon-yellow Mello Yello fire suit. I guess I’m the only one in Name-o-rama who thinks each time what driver I am with my personal count.
With the Petty transition, YHC felt it was fitting to work in some laps with the PAX today. Lead 44, and you win the race – taking home the DT 44 Trophy.
Warmup:
- Windmills (movement interruptus by @Solo Cup – Form Police on point today)
- Cotton Pickers
- Arm Circles
This was the point where YHC was so thrown off by @Solo Cup’s comments that I jacked up my hamstring. There’s a first for everything – injured during warmups.
The Thang:
- As one PAX, complete 44 laps around HRHS, while mixing in the following partner exercises:
- LBC
- ‘Mercans (any flavor)
- Squats (any flavor)
- Reverse Crunches
- Lunges (any flavor)
- SSH
- Plank
Like a good race, there was some confusion along the way. Were the PAX to complete 44 laps alone, with their partner or as a team? We cleared that up, @BanjoBoy called me out for a lack of form on the ‘Mercans, and we continued to speed off towards winning the DT 44.
Clydesdales finished 3, Stallions finished 5, and everyone else was in the middle. All in all, the PAX completed the 44, and then some – total of 52. Well done, boys.
Moleskin:
- Welcome to Sam Greiner, now named @IPTAY
- MECA Holiday Party is Saturday at 26 Acres, 8-10 PM, check Slack for more details
- This morning in COT, we talked about seasons of change. Many of us are going through these times. I feel it when I talk to everyone during workouts, at coffee, on Slack, wherever. As a group, we took comfort in these words. Support like this is why I love F3 so much. I’m so thankful that God put an organization like this in my life.
The Word
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
