7 men got an early start to Thanksgiving with the 0600 pre-game tailgate. It went like this:

Warm-up jog to the corner of the lot
SSHs x20
Slow Air Squats x10
Mericans x10
Continue down to the portico and pair up for some core work (gotta save the legs for the big game)

Each partner does a different exercise, switching as often as necessary until the team does the called reps for the first exercise:
50 Burpees/SSHs
100 Mericans/Al Gore
200 Dips/Feet 6″ off the ground
100 Air Squats/Plank
30 Yurpees/Reverse Crunches

Mosey back to the corner
LBCs x20
Flutter Kicks x20

Run to 1st island, 1 Burpee, then to the 2nd island for 2 Burpees….to the 5th island for 5 Burpees. Repeat in reverse coming back.

Flutter Kicks x15
Back to the cars for COT, then in to the locker rooms until game time, where we’re joined by another 20 or so men and 2.0s.

At 0655, we circle up, explain the rules, then count off by 2s to form two teams. By 0705, another ~20 have arrived (for the 0700 kickoff), so we circle up again, explain the rules again, then count off by 4s to form four teams.

Two 25 minute games. The winners of the first play each other, as do the…um…2nd place teams from the first games. Great times had by all with zero broken ribs. All captured by our official photographer (SS Minnow). And somewhere there’s also a drunk Namath doing a sideline interview.

Thanksgiving Day Moleskin
1. Awesome time once again, especially seeing so many 2.0s out there. So much to be thankful for. Hope everyone enjoys the long holiday weekend and gets a little time to reflect on all that we have.

2. Best line from Game 1: “Hey, someone guard Uecker’s kid…don’t worry about guarding Uecker.”

3. Won’t repeat Torch’s comment from the pre-game bootcamp, but I’m still hoping he wasn’t using “core” as a verb. #showtoknow

4. I think Bojangles is catching on – they were well staffed and got us through quickly. Coffeeteria is back at Rocky river tomorrow (and Saturday….and probably Monday….and Tuesday….)

5. Again, Happy Thanksgiving to all, and safe travels to all those on the road.
