Pyramids built in a day

All BackBlasts Backblasts

October 22nd, 2019 By BanjoBoy

Maybe it was luck, or a mixture of numerology and ancient wisdom, but 13 men of character and of Harrisburg came out this AM to build on to an already strong foundation.

Mosey to the edge of the parking lot and add in some butt-kickers, then high knees.  If you flail your arms and keep your wrists limp then you look cool AND warm up your upper half at the same time.

Start at one end of the parking spot lines and run up one, shuffle to the next, backwards run, shuffle, repeat.  Switch up somewhere near the middle and circle up for the rest of the warm up.

In 4X cadence

Now that the PAX was ready to go, the mystery of the Pyramids began to unfold. Mosey to the practice field.

Moleskins:

YHC was working on some other elaborate beatdown that would have been both fun and educational (FUNdamentals?) but as the appointment grew closer, the weather forecast became less pleasant.  Over the years I have been to beatdowns in all types of conditions.  Single digit temps, yep.  Complete snow and ice coverage, yes sir. Driving rain, of course.  I have preferences, and occasionally choose the fartsack over less than ideal conditions, as I feel I have proven myself enough to know that I don’t have as much fun when I am soaked.  That said, when you sign up to Q, the rain is way better than reading a backblast that should have been written by you and has some clever title about “Soft Commits” or how lame the Q is or the snuggle time with your #doodle was more important.  That is experience talking…  Showing up is 90% of life.  Maybe less but it certainly isn’t always fame and glory unless you are @flipphone.

Anyhoo, after seeing the 80-90% chance of rain from 0500-0900 the night before, YHC got out the scratch pad and knocked out a portico friendly beatdown that would have minimal time standing, laying, splashing around, in the rain.  Not a second thought that the cool kids, bus drivers and school staff might look at us funny. I was going to stay as dry as possible.  Even Mary was going to happen in the shelter.

It was a nice surprise when the weather app said that the rain was going to hold off for a little bit.  Even better when 12 of your buddies show up to support you and do all of the goofy things that you ask them to.  Every Q that has a rainy forecast has the idea that no one will show up and he will (get to or have to?) drive home and get back in the bed.  Like clockwork the PAX start to roll in, or even beat you to it.  Its good to know that there are brothers out there that will be in the slop with you.

Proverbs 27:17, and the mantra of F3.  As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.  A related one is Ecclesiastes 4:9 -12.  Look that one up for yourself but it is truth.  It will be worth the effort.

We did 100 burpees!

Yep… Banjo Boy

  1. Nice lead Banjo. Great back-blast too.

Thanks for stepping up. You’re not half as bad as @Solocup says.
