#NRD at the Pitchfork
All Harrisburg BackblastsJune 5th, 2019
Eight PAX observed #NationalRunningDay by putting in hills at the Devil’s Pitchfork…
THE ROUTE:
- Beginning at Abbington Pool, turn right onto French Fields, run to the end and turn around
- Run back up the hill, turn left at Burnage Hall roundabout
- Left onto Hounslow, run to the end and turn around
- Run back up the hill, right onto Burnage Hall, straight thru the roundabout
- Right onto Grovesner, run to the end and turn around
- Run back up the hill, left onto Burnage Hall, right onto French Fields, run to the pool entrance
- REPEATO until time is called
Everyone got at least two loops in, some got three. @Wexler ran from his house and then ran back home so I think he was the high man, mileage-wise.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- F3 Harrisburg is celebrating our 6th anniversary tomorrow night at Percent Tap House. @Starsky and @Gamma have the details, @Gamma will be there early to “save us a table”.
- Adopt-a-Park coming up again soon. @Wexler has the details.
MOLESKINE:
Moderate temps but some very heavy humidity this morning, not to mention some night-before-forecasts of rain. It was no obstacle for this crowd however, who posted strong with the goal of getting a little better. That’s the only real goal with the Pitchfork, getting a little better each week. It will never be easy and it will never stop humbling you, and it will never stop being the simplest, dumbest thing to do in Harrisburg. But running it again and again will make you stronger and it will make other hills feel easier. I was happy to get a little better this morning, and so were the other seven.
- @Scooter took it easier this morning, pace-wise. Meaning I was able to keep him in my field of vision the whole time. Same with @SS Minnow who was clearly saving his strength for tomorrow’s Q at the Ridge (consider yourself forewarned).
- Good to see @Fig out there this morning. One thing i’ll say for @Fig is he may go months without posting but he definitely never seems to get any slower.
- @Clueless was out there on his bike (I believe), and he must have taken an alternate route because I didn’t see much of him on the regular course.
- Good to see @Turftoe, sporting a fine looking New Balance hat this morning. He wasn’t a fan of me going bare-chested at the end but he and @Teen Spirit kept a steady pace throughout.
- Finally, T-claps for @Wexler who, as I said, ran to/from the workout from his house. You have to be a little crazy to post for this run, and even a little crazier to run home when you’re done.
As always thanks for letting me lead.
