RRC Bus Tour
All Harrisburg BackblastsNovember 1st, 2017
7 men made the smart choice and decided to get in some miles this morning and are better for it. 6 of us ran together. One showed up late and wandered in the right direction, but was never found until the end. This time it wasn’t @Deuce. No refunds on that bus ticket.
Last week we toured the other side of Rocky River Crossing with 3 different F3 men. This week 5 completely different pax showed up for the tour. Who knew tourism was a good business at 5:30 in the morning on Wednesdays in Harrisburg?
Here’s how it went.
Quick jaunt down Roberta and turned left on Rocky River Crossing road.
Make the first left on @BBQs street. We saw him casually drinking coffee after already running 8 miles and showered and made the kids breakfast. He looked out the window with a confused look on his face as a herd of elephants stomped by breathing way too hard while running that slow.
After going back to RRC road, we made the next left down The Meadows lane.
We ran by @Starsky’s and saw him running on the dreadmill because it was 7 degrees too cold to be outside. Don’t worry though, he had the incline set to 1 degree to simulate running in the elements.
Took a left turn on The Arbors and went by @Gamma’s house. We saw a large empty bottle of Crown and about 10 empty Reese’s peanut butter cup wrappers and knew that Halloween had gotten the best of him. Don’t worry, he’ll be there on Thursday to sweat it off. That weird smell in COT will be a mixture of Crown, Coconut, and chocolate.
Continued on The Arbors until you got to my house, aka, the bike shop. At least 4 bikes out, in various working order. If you come across a mean set of wheels that can be hacked up quickly and sold for parts, let me know. I know a few girls that could get them sold quickly for top dollar on the black market.
After passing my house we saw @Tumbler’s house. The large blue cooler was a dead give away. He fell victim to one-too-many pudding shots. You don’t realize how much alcohol is in them, until you’ve eaten 10, then it’s too late. He’s not normally a #roadwarrior guy, but the pudding shots made that a certainty.
Then we got back to business and heading back to RRC. About this time there was some mumblechatter about the pace. @TI85 has run the Boston Marathon before, @TurfToe is ramping up for Charlotte Marathon in two weeks, @Wexler and @BanjoBoy are HC for Huntersville half, and @PapaJohn spoke up, “we don’t have a six, what are we waiting for??”. So YHC obliged and we picked up the pace leading up to Moorehead.
@TI85 was trying to race (which I’m sure YHC would lose) so we made it to Roberta road first. 5 burpees while we waited … “wait, are you serious??” YHC doesn’t joke about burpees.
The good news was that the way back was mostly down hill. Some mumblechatter confirming that @Wexler is a rockstar and RF Engineering is boring. He’s Tom Cruise in Jerry McGuire. “Help me help you”. That sums up his job in one line – pretty cool. Get his autograph.
Made it back 1 minute early. Then we realized @SoloCup was out there running it as a lone wolf.

Good work this morning guys. Thanks for coming out.
Glad @PapaJohn set a 5k PR. Nice work! You should chase @TI85 more often.
@SoloCup mentioned something about crushing @Gamma and @Starsky in a Healthy Eating Challenge competition. He’s one day closer to accomplishing that goal.

Nice work this morning guys. Anything that I missed? Let us know!
The quote of the day:
“We saw a large empty bottle of Crown and about 10 empty Reese’s peanut butter cup wrappers “
Thanks for taking the Q and sorry I was late. I figured I would get lost back in the ghetto of RR so I just stuck to the main roads.
Keep pushing,
I think there may be some exaggeration in this BB. There was a comment about picking up the pace, but the heavy sarcasm must not have come through as clearly to those in the front of the pack. It was definitely a faster pace than I’m used to and was challenging. That being said, thank you for forcing me to push myself this morning. Although, if I hadn’t kept up, I would have been wandering aimlessly by myself like @SoloCup.
I don’t know what you mean. Nothing but facts in this back blast. #realnews
Was I fully clothed when you went by? For your sake I hope so.
You tell me … I hope you get dressed before making the kids breakfast, but that’s just how we do it at my house.
Great backblast, @FlipPhone! Rough day yesterday and never had a chance to read it, but after hearing all the the talk of “puddin” shots this morning, knew something was amiss.
