Where is the clean air?
All All MECA BackblastsJuly 1st, 2017
A solid 9-pack eventually made their way to the #Railyard to cut through the humidity and pay their dues for the weekend.
Obviously, the word had gotten out that YHC had the Q this morning…to quote a pax who requested to remain anonymous…”that means it is probably going to be too tough for me. I think I will schedule my pedicure for early Saturday morning. I am glad the guys don’t know that Echo doesn’t open until 9:00. I will feel a little guilty for not taking my medicine, but I will just make it up at the Y by posting a few extra selfies of me getting totally swole.”
This comes to YHC fourth hand from that little guy that likes to f#ck with me when things get silly during the tough runs. This AM was one of those runs. Dang @Starsky, if you are going to say those kind of things, don’t tell anybody that talks to that little demon. He doesn’t need anymore ammo….and when was the last time you talked to Kevin Bacon??? Anyways, the air was extra thick this morning. The kind of thick that made you think that someone had sparked up the Lucky Strikes on top of Hootie’s fridge and made you take a hit before every breath you took. The legs felt like someone took all the weight that @Diesel has lost the last six months and strapped it around your ankles. Blame it on the heat…the humidity…the late night….the long week…the half naked man that is running behind you that won’t back off…whatever. The run was rough. I can’t remember who or how many made it out, but YHC was glad that they were there…@Clueless, @Big Bird, @Starsky, @SS Minnow, @Flip Phone, @Hootie – Thanks for being there, it was a tough one this AM. Sorry if you were there and I missed you….it’s not you, it’s me.
At 7:00 AM we took off, gathered up at the lower lot and circled up….The disclaimer was given and a brief warmup of:
SSH x 15
Merkins x 10
The Main Event:
Mosey up to the Library Book Return:
At this point, we only had 7 PAX, so a slight deviation to the “team” plan had to be made. We will run the course as a group (sort of) and save the “team” event for another day.
Station #1
15 Wide Merkins
15 Jump Squats
15 Carolina Dry Docks
0.2 mile run to the “Prison Yard”
Station #2
10 Pull Ups
20 Dips
10 Box Jumps
0.15 Mile Run to the Pond
Station #3
15 Merkins
20 Air Squats
12 Diamond Merkins
0.3 mile run to the Library Book Return
Repeat as time allows
We managed to get 4 full laps in – with the lead group doing a few extra sets at times to allow the six to arrive and keep the group together. We picked up @Chaos and @Big Bird somewhere along the way and @Hootie did a little mall walking somewhere between laps 1 and 3 and dug deep to join us for the final lap.
Mary:
20 Dips
10 Decline Merkins
Plank until @Hootie gets into position
COT – by @Hootie. Thanks for taking us out.

Skinny Skin:
- It is days like this that make YHC especially appreciative for this group. There is no way that YHC would be doing this alone. On a day like this, YHC would have called it a day after 15 minutes and called it good. Thanks for coming out and pushing yourselves to your limits.
- Great to have Queso out for his 2nd post this morning. The dude is strong – pushing the entire time.
- YHC felt like @Spauldini had more in the tank…He was pushing it hard on the final round.
- Good push by all today – especially @Klump…no quit in that beast.
- Really good to see the #BrokenArrow crew out again this AM. Solid work by @Swami, @Water Bear and @Schnitzel.

Tclaps to @Swami and @WaterBear for launching #brokenArrow. I got the Q next Sat as they’ll be out. Some solid F2 going on, plus breaking a sweat at the same time.
