Kbells in the summer
All All MECA BackblastsJuly 11th, 2016
It was an honor to Kbell Q for 11 of traditions’ finest this am. Great way to start the week. Had a brainstorm to try something a little different this am and work in some exercises to failure/exhaustion all in the spirit of strength gaining. With some running mixed in-between – thought that might stretch and stengthen the PAX on a Monday morning start to the week. Different teams of two modified as needed. My apologies for downtime as this sorted out. Thanks for all participating!
The beatdown went something like this.

Great push to completion
Mumble chatter in small groups seemed to be good and social.

You said we were getting back to traditional, but I think the 2 bells til Max is becoming a Maximus Tradition!
Every other kbell workout Q I try to have a lot of single arm kettlebell stuff for the sole purpose of building strength. … It isn’t enjoyable! (but that’s the point, isn’t it?)
And yes…. 6:30-7:15AM this Saturday show up at the Tradition parking lot for a pre-breakfast workout. Build up an appetite so you can combat getting fat from all that delicious food! Not to mention it literally gives us all 3 F’s in one morning… Fitness followed by Fellowship with a grand finale of Faith.
Thanks King Louie. I have been trying to push the limit a little more when I Q because intuitively that makes sense to me. I read this article today;
https://www.sharecare.com/health/wellness-healthy-living/article/truth-about-afterburn?cmpid=sc-et-em-00-up-07112016&eid=NEED&memberid=28494276&_sid=955581d1-3145-4574-a2f4-ab59d003ec63
Hope the link comes through, which talks about afterburn if you push yourself for a short duration of time. Will help me push harder in beatdowns after reading this.
Look forward to your beatdown Saturday!
@Maximus- thanks for leading, good times
@Pongo- thanks for partnering up, you crushed it today!
@Jelly- Airborne Mind Bender!!!!!!!!!! (loud, like Grizzly says CAAAAAAAAA!!)
That airborne mind bender felt great brother!
Thanks for partnering up this morning Maximus. I enjoyed the workout.
KB’s to exhaustion – very pain Full Maximus. Plus your getting so good at deflecting the mumble chatter that we may need to step up our game to keep u off balance.
Your kb workout was a big HIIT!
Loved the KB to exhaustion @Maximus!! My arms felt like they look – jelly. Thanks for a fun beatdown!! Did anyone noticed the bright red plane? I saw it while laying on my back gasping for air.
I also saw the red plane. That was really cool.
Wasn’t it flying by at the same time as another one (way over it?). I just remember thinking “Those planes are so far apart!”
Quick notice to anyone else looking for a bell like me. @ManDown just shared this with me… Another (far bigger!) Kettlebell sale is going on with Walmart at the moment. Here’s the link:

Going to be hurting with the 45lb soon.
Some VERY nice prices:

15lb $10.97
20lb $13.97
25lb $16.97
30lb $20.97
35lb $23.97
40lb $26.97
45lb $29.97
50lb $33.97
3x 10lb $20.91
3x 40lb $80.91
3x 45lb $89.91
3x 50lb $101.91
Just got some. Thanks King Louie!! I heard Walmart is competing with Amazon Prime Day or something like that. Not sure if it’s only for one day. But, supposedly there are good deals to be had like these.
@ribshack & @jelly – glad you liked
@dutch – re: my qing – as the departed @major oft said one must “focus on the task at hand”
@cardiac – are you sure you saw a red plane? Since @jelly says it was, so it must be. I am pleased though you did not have a cardiac moment.
@king louie – you are up to a 40 pound bell now? I should have had you pair with mr. 45 pound bell @jelly. Think I need to step up 5 to a 40 pounder. 40 is a lot heavier than 35.
I’m actually at a 35lb now. I don’t make enough money to be buying my bells in 5lb increments though! Not to mention when I got the 35 I was thinking “I might need to buy a bell at the next sale…” within about 3 months. I’ll just keep the 45 and 35 for the workouts.
I was with Shawshank though because someone else had my 35lb at that point. I just did an extra 5 reps of everything (except the lunges since 10 extra reps would take way longer… think I just did 3 extra per side on those)
Congrats King Louie on jumping to 45 soon. Great progress!
