A light crowd of 3 stoners and one newcomer (welcome Shadow) hit the PoxBox for a now annual Good Friday beat down known as ‘by his wounds’. It went like this as we did a little suffering in remembarance of he who suffered for us

WARMUP: no time, just a disclaimer and then get to work
THE THANG:

60 lunges (body weight)

72 shoulder to overhead with open barbell or KB
600 m run with slamball
3 sledgehammer tire hits
3 pull-ups followed by a 30 second hang

Meaning behind the WOD; Good Friday remembrance
60 = min apostle couldn’t stay awake in the garden during Jesus’s agony
39 = traditional number of lashes in a Roman scouring (just enough not to kill a person)
72 = number of thorns in the crown of thorns
600m = distance from pratoreum to Calvary which Jesus carried the cross (Christians have been walking this route for over 2000 years on this and many other days) (sorry slamballs had to take the place of large wooden beam)
3 = nails driven into Jesus’s hands and feet
3 = 3 men crucified (one on his right and left)
3 rounds = hours he hung on the cross
