Educators Only (Unexpectedly)
All BackBlasts BackblastsJune 22nd, 2020
A Preblast via Twitter was posted yesterday for my 11×11 Kettlebell Beatdown. While the invitation was extended to all of Me-Ca, this unexpectedly became the first educator-only Highlands workout (based on our historical knowledge). @Snape and @Illuminati were not phased by the 72 degrees and eagerly arrived with their coupons (kettlebell or dumbbell).
Having the full-range of elementary school, high school, and college represented by the PAX, an abbreviated disclaimer was provided. We are all rule followers.

THE THANG
“Triangle” up with Kettlebells.
Eleven moves, each with 11 reps:
- Squats to Overhead Pres (KB)
- Inchworm
- Curls (KB)
- Kettlebell Swings
- Skull Crushers (KB)
- Figure 8’s (KB)
- Lunges (each leg)
- Single Arms Rows (KB) – each arm
- Merkins (Regular, then Diamond, Wide, and Crucible)
Followed by a gentle mosey around the parking lot.
We successfully completed four circuits with just enough time for a single-move MARY, which was KB low-flutters with chest-press mixed in.

MOLESKIN:
- It didn’t take long for this to turn into a sweatfest.
- What happens when three educators come together for a beatdown? All the directions are followed without having to repeat and high-quality clarification questions are asked. This groups could serve as a model of proper classroom (beatdown) behavior.
- The format provided a lot of solid 2nd F today, which organically turned into discussion about the reopening of schools. The three of us have it all figured out, but we are not at liberty to share with the general public.
- Prayers included, but not limited to our front-line health care workers, who continue to put their own health at risk to take care of others; prayers for those involved in key decision-making, prayers to those who are leading the charge to fight social injustice and for everyone to no longer simply be against racism, but to serve as anti-racist in our communities.
- It is always an honor to lead this group, no matter the size. There are lots of Q opportunities available on the SUG!
